Kerns Korner is pretty darn good, a little ol'-school, but I like that too.

Ditto! I haven't had a burger from there in 5 years, I'm going tomorrow!

Folks, a "best burger" discussion is always good, but let's not lose track of the question posed in the original post: "I'm only considering local restaurants where we are waited on, in other words, no chains and no casual dining."

I am a little partial , but I like Home Run Burgers. Order the new Bases Loaded Cheese Burger with a Egg and Bacon plus your choice of 26 Toppings.

It's okay, Bob. Bill P makes a good point; The OP wanted advice for last night, and now the discussion has moved on. And you guys do a splendid burger!

Bison burger with blue cheese at BBC in St Mathews. Cumberland can be as good, but I don't think that they're as consistent as BBC. Side that with the garlic fries and you have a winner. If you want to lighten that up a bit, instead of fries, the coleslaw with red cabbage and sunflower seeds is the best slaw in the Ville....IMHO.

Honorable mention to Spring Street's beef burger.
