Kyle, my only affiliation is that I owned a Food Service Brokerage business Dennery Enterprises, for 20 years before becoming the Marketing Partner for this area for Krispy Krunchy Chicken. I actually never have considered ourselves a chain as we offer the concept to independent operators or C store chains. We compete with Chesters, Charlie Biggs and of course in this area Broasters.

Becky, I assume your "blasting" comments referred to Alison or someone else's comments. I have never blasted a customer in my career. I supplied many of the local operators with foods thru distributors and consider many of the Owners and Chefs to be my friends.

On then other hand, I am particular about the use of the English language and have spent a life time educating others regarding the use of the word Restarateur as opposed to the often misused Restaraunteur. Just a guy trying to make the world a little better one word at a time.

[Harry, I did not intend to by rude to you. It is just one of my pet peeves, and I understand the idea behind the concept of the Ks. Yes, Becky was referring to Trent a newbie who laid into me for having an opinion. I totally agree with you about the restaurateur /restauranteur. I have been known to whip out a pen and alter signs in gas stations etc. for mispelt words. Yes, we say mispelt not mispelled in England before anyone jumps in to say I spelt it wrong :)

Harry knowing your experience, passion, and deep understanding of the Food Service Industry where you've been active for over 20 years I know that before becoming the Marketing Partner for Krispy Krunchy Chicken it had to be something very special. So let's hear more about the that...

Where can we find Krispy Krunchy Chicken now, and what are your expansion plans around the Louisville area? What makes it special? You actually mentioned some of that in your opening comments, but it bears repeating as it seems to have gotten lost in a lot of other comment.

Can't wait to try Krispy Krunchy Chicken and see some reviews up here about the actual product.

Robin, I appreciate that you tried our chicken at the Moby Dick and found it to be crispy and juicy or moist. I chuckled a bit on the bland comment as I haven't heard that in 3 years of talking with our customers but that's what makes a horse race. Most customers compare our flavor profile to Church's Fried Chicken. I couldn't quite come to grips with the cheeky comment. Dan agreed to add the chicken to the fish so he could offer two great selections and grow his business. There is some major competition across the street that opened this year and our mutual goal is to get customers in for chicken and fish.
I look forward to hearing other comments as our business is growing weekly once people stop in and try. I would never suggest people switch from the best fish sandwich. Just an alternative to satisfy a larger customer base.

Broasted Chicken...that was always a big thing back in Ohio. Good stuff. Might just have to give this Krispy Krunchy stuff a try. I'll report back.

I tried it last night - I liked it! It does remind me of Bojangles. Really liked the jambalaya I got for a side. Not bad at all for drive thru food! :)

I wonder when or if they plan to expand to the other Moby's locations. My very first job was at a Moby Dick's (when Bud Deely was at the helm). They used to serve some pretty good fried chicken back then (late 70's).

Nancy Thanks so much for giving us a try. The Moby Dick location is a test and if it goes well, we hope Don will add to his other stores. We are mainly in C-stores although some markets are setting stores up as free standing units due to the popularity of the chicken. We keep expanding in KY, Ohio, West VA and Va. and sooner or later will have more stores in the Louisville market.

I was in the St. Matthews Moby Dick this evening and, as expected, the Krispy Chicken segment has been removed. I have not been in this Moby's for about a month so I do not know when they closed up shop, but it was expected from my viewpoint.

The times I was in there (after the first two weeks of the newness) no one was ordering the chicken. So what was in the warming bin just sat there all evening ensuring that the next person that ordered the chicken was sure to be disappointed.

Jerry, Sorry about your experience at Moby Dick. They stopped at the beginning of Lent. I love Don and his fish and thought it would work in a non C Store location but alas it didn't. We have opened 6 more locations over the past few weeks in the Cowboy's Convenience stores in Vevay, Pendleton, Owenton, Frankfort and Ghent. Next week in Carrollton and week after in Eminence. All these stores are doing great. Our latest location in Greenup did over $1500 Thursday.
We hope to open a third location next week in Louisville and once we do, I will post location. Once you have the chicken properly prepared, you will understand why we are the fastest growing Fried Chicken concept in C Stores in the U.S. Also hope to open several more locations in Louisville in the next 60 days.
I would love to hear feedback once you try us again.

I like Popeye's chicken the best of all the chains. And thier biscuits are #1 in the world, IMHO.

I read here the other day that CQ has fantastic fried chicken...gonna have to try it soon.

If you're really looking for the "best" fried chicken - and don't mind a wait (as every serving is cooked to order) - try the Chicken House in Sellersburg IN (Google it - it's on SR111, around 10 minutes beyond IU Southeast).
