No, Steve, not at all. I think you've been clear, and you've expressed an opinion to which you have a complete right. I hope no one here is challenging you about that. I'm just saying - not challenging you, but talking to the round-table - that a middle way (or many middle ways) is available for those who want to take it. Please don't feel that we're piling up on you ... that's not my intention at all.

No problem Robin. I don't fell like folks are piling on. I'm thinking my posts have people thinking that I'm more worried about this than I really him. I'm really pretty easy going. So, you can stop walking on eggshells as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really care if folks have a different view than me. It just seems like that the OP and I really didn't get the conversation that we wanted.

Ok, I understand. I guess the point I had attempted to make was there are instances people "complain" to the management while others let it slide. And it has to not only to deal with the instance, but individual. Honestly Steve, I imagine everyone's opinion on their "breaking point" to complain are going to be individualistic and difficult to nail down across the board. One person may be :x while another is  over the same experience.

I DO see your wanting to know , I THINK , what instances would all make us upset or question the management at the time.

Close. No. Ish? Not even?

Yeah. I don't expect there to be some kind of universal standard. I was interested in other opinions.

Is it really possible, that I could have talked my way unto that patio and enjoyed myself? For me, no. The damage had been done. Others? I don't know.

Sure, what you described wasn't ideal, but sometimes mistakes are made. Looks like you have been wronged more than your share, and you aren't going to forget it.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Obviously my poor writing skills.

You replied with a few sentences saying my grasp of the facts might be wrong. And I noted in my reply that your speculations didn't match the facts in this case. Your assertions, while possible in some cases didn't didn't match the facts of my situation. I tried to let you know that, and clarify further. I don't understand how that is "knee-jerky" or what i said that is so upsetting.

Like I said, I haven't thought about this since it happened. The original post just reminded me. Again, my poor skills of expression, have led you to a completely wrong idea about me, my state of mind, and what I wanted to talk about. Sorry.

Also, I am not looking for validation. There is no single answer for everyone in this case.

Can someone help me understand how I can be so completely misunderstood?

Maybe, I'll go back to lurking.....

Nah, it's okay, Steve. This kind of communication is different from face-to-face, because facial expressions and voice tone is missing, but we try to keep things civil regardless. This really is a friendly gang ... it's just that when a dining-related issue of interest pops up, we get involved, and much of the discussion is aimed more at the issue than the individuals involved. If you're not used to it, it can feel like everyone's coming back at you and saying, "Yeah, but, what about this," as if to challenge your opinion.

You misunderstand. I don't feel like I was getting ganged up on and I wasn't getting mad or upset. It just seemed like I was having that effect on others. Unintentionally, to be sure.

OK, everybody let's join hands and sing Kumbaya.
