More like $300+, but it apparently comes in a fancy pants crystal decanter.

They have it in a normal bottle for $225. They are taking pre orders for the next release. The demand for the Pappy products is crazy.

YIKES !!!

Well, I guess I'm just going to have to be happy with my little 53 dollar bottle of 15 y.o. Which based on an abbreviated tasting last evening seems to have aged quite nicely.

I will state categorically that it should be illegal to export this fine product to a bunch of Riunite swilling New Yorkers.

Actually we went to the Pappy dinner last month at Bourbons Bistro and the 15 year old was the one we preferred!

The 23yo is very good. But I can't justify the cash to buy a pottle. IMO, the 12 y.o. is as good if not better than the others.

In my opinion, the 23 year is superior, but the price is outlandish. For the money, the 15 year is better than the 20 year, as I find the 20 year has a bit of a harsh taste, though it's still outstanding.

Also, I must have said it 10 times on here, but you can usually find 15 year and almost always find 20 and 23 year at Hometown Liquors (next to Bombay, corner of Bonnycastle and Bardstown Road). Sanjay (of the family that owns it and Bombay and Dakshin) claims they get more bottles of the 15 than any other location in the Louisville area.

Yes it is! and I have 2 bottles of it in inventory if anyone is interested. Hopefully we will be getting our pittance of the other Pappy's in the next week or so. This is always a great time for bourbon releases, with Pappy, Buffalo Trace's Antique collection, the Parker 27 year old that came out last week, and the Woodford Reserve special edition that is due out next week. Lots of great bourbons to be had!

That came in a couple of weeks ago, so it slipped my mind, but that is always a nice one as well.

Yes it is. My dad picked up a bottle a few weeks ago, and it was outstanding.

Spot on advice. Thanks, Pete!

On my lunch break today I walked over to a package liquor store downtown. Specifically, the kind of store where all the spirits are kept behind the counter.

The clerk was pricing bottles on the counter, and when I asked for Pappy's he said I was looking at it. They had two bottles each of 10, 15, 20 and 23-year.

I chose the 15 year old Family Reserve and tootled off down the street with my brown paper bag.

Now I just got home and poured a wee dram of the stuff. Lovely color, very spirit-y nose. Taking a sip it seems to bite the tongue a bit. Maybe this is because I'm getting over a cold. Should I be adding water?

Oh. Way to go Steve. NOW you've went and opened up a potential hornets nest. :?

Me ? I have a copper shot glass (Woodford) and I put an ice cube in it and allow it to chill the shot glass for a brief moment. Then I pours me a "wee dram" of Bourbon over the ice. I let the bourbon take a little 8 or 10 second "nap" in the shot glass with the ice and then I pours it straight up. Works for me.

So, for Christmas, I got 15 yr. old Pappy, 20 yr. old Pappy, George T. Stagg and a Great Lebowski bowling shirt. Did I do okay for my baby boy?
