Sah-weet. Glad to see there is so much enthusiasm for such a great event and a wonderful cause.

I'd like to put out at least one more call (and who knows, possibly more) for new and/or occasional forum contributors to join in the festivities. These "offlines' are a heckuva lot of fun and if last year's potluck is any indication there will be lots of time to mingle (and finally associate a face with a name) all the while enjoying some really REALLY good food. It's relaxed, it's informal and it's friendly, so come on down.

I'll be bringing 5 or 6 chafing dishes again this year for anyone who need to keep their dish warm.
Remember, they only fit 2 1/2 size foil pans or 1 full size. I could hold up to 12 dishes if we need to. If anyone knows what they are bringing and wants to claim chafer space again, just let me know.
See you all there! :D :D

That's champion, Dan! They were a huge help last year. I'll have an extra crock pot handy if anyone needs it. Now is a good time for you long time lurkers to sign in and sign up! This offline is perfect for those shy types who love to cook and meet people in a very low key, relaxed setting. Bonus that we are also helping a great local charity with the holidays coming up. Think of it as our very own Hotbytes Holiday Food Drive, too!

Most excellent Mr. Thomas. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a couple of chafing dishes myself...So we should have plenty this year.

As a note of caution...there are two ovens in the facility but my recollection is that last year they were needed for holding food warm until we set up the service. So it's probably not a good idea to bring something that is going to need extensive oven time and/or high temps. To echo what Dan and I have both said, it's just good planning to bring your dish in a standard sized half or whole aluminum pan or in lieu of that a crock pot.

Another note of caution...with all the people and food dishes flying around prep space is at a premium, so another reason to complete your dish at home to the extent possible

I can't wait to attend this one. I am thinking we will be in for a lovely stew. Would that be okay? I think a half pans space will do, with maybe some back up.

Please put Anne and I down on the list. Not sure what we are bring yet though. We didnt get to make it last year, looking forward it this time around.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

We are still coming 2 maybe 3 ...I wanted to bring my son's pork loin but he is concerned with the travelability of it , if that is a word, if that doesnt work I will still bring Mamaw's Banana pudding and some other meat dish.
Any ideas to help the pork loin travel easier...he just uses a rub and bakes it low and slow in the oven.
