I went yesterday and had the brisket and smoked pork. Both were very good. Good smoke flavor and tender. And I agree a nice menu with lots of good choices.

Forgive me if I have asked this in the past, but are they are former BBQ place from another spot in Louisville with a different name?

I am sure glad that it sounds good. Couldn't be closer to my house. Been watching it. I was there a number of times when it was a fairly awful Pizza Hut. I love good BBQ and hope it lives up to expectations. I will there in a few days.

Here's your answer, Kyle.

Kathy K S wrote:This is right next to Hungry Pelican. And it is not related to Bruce's Smokehouse or Crabby Jakes. Jeremy from Bluegrass Kitchen Exhaust told me that it is an individual with a bar-b-q restaurant outside of Louisville- from Henderson, maybe?

I did not see anyone in Smokehouse who I used to see at the other places, and the food is cooked differently (especially the fried potatoes).

My mistake for not reading it the first time. Thank you, Terri.

The 'piggy' decor extends to the outside as well - noticed a pink pig on the 'roof walkway' facing the Speedway next door tonight while pumping gas. The smell coming from the place was enough to convince me to try it sometime soon.

Picked up carryout after work. I was especially happy with the beef brisket.

The potato of the day was the fried potatoes with onions (couldn't resist). I also picked up a side sampler of mac n cheese, green beans, potato salad, and homemade seasoned chips. Had to try a little of each when I got home and was not disappointed. Definitely comfort food here.

I'm not normally into veggies, but I tried the fried green bean appetizer. They were crispy with an addictive flavor. They come with a nice tangy dipping sauce.

I will definitely be stopping there again to try the other menu items. Everyone working there is really friendly and helpful.
