I'll take eateries that need to come to the east end for $1,000.

I wanted to resurrect this post because I also think it would make a great article. I might be willing to tackle this subject!
There are also three bakeries in So. Indiana that are also worthy of mention.

Jeff's Bakery in Downtown Jeffersonville, hands down the best Apple Fritter you will ever have.
William's Bakery in Clarksville where the simple Long John is quite tasty as well as the Fruit Pizza.
Honey Cream Doughnuts in New Albany which has been there forever and their Glazed are the bomb!

I also have a big soft spot in my heart for Krispy Kream as well. Though not quite local, they do bake them fresh here everyday! Now that there's a location a stone's throw from my home in J-town, I'm starting to re-gain all of the weight I lost working at Forecastle back in July.

"Bake"? "Bake"? Krispy Kreme doughnuts are fried in a pool of hot oil! Why do you think they're so good?

Sugar and Spice is probably overall the best, but it's awfully hard not to stop when I pass the Krispy Kreme HOT DONUTS sign.

1051 N. Clark Blvd. If heading west towards New Albany on Lewis and Clark, turn left onto Clark before you get to the Old Hwy 62 overpass. Clark Blvd. runs parallel to Brown Station Way(old Hwy 62)

Here's a link to their website....

I used to be a Plehn's person and I do still love them, but Nord's is my new fave. In part, I admit, because they are closer to me, but also because their French doughnuts are so delicious w/o being greasy. And the people who work there are super-nice. It also doesn't hurt that Sunergos is right next door :-D
