i also like the wings and not the drummetts. the wings are called FLATS. go figure... lol
when i order mine i want all wings. so they say 1 dozen FLATS here. that's wing talk...

I've always said/heard "Flats" as well...but from here on in will use Carla's term "Flappers"...it's much more descriptive and a lot more original. :P

Personally, I LOVE the bbq wings!

Whatever kind you like, I've not found anything in Louisville that even comes close to Rooties.

Second their burgers - whomever is cooking there knows how to give you a medium-rare burger that is truly medium-rare . . . I never get them anymore, however, as I usually order 20 wings, eat 10 for lunch (or whatever), and roll myself to the door taking the rest home for whenever.

Their appetizers we found not to be great - simple bar food, taken from the freezer and dumped into a fryer when ordered. But those wings make up for anything else that could go wrong.

Just out of curiosity, Andrew, how do you reheat them? Toaster oven, nuke oven or other? Or cold, straight out of the box in the refrigerator? :D

I end up eating a couple cold from the box, but reheat the rest @ around 250-300 for 15 minutes or so until hot . . . tried it at a higher/quicker timeframe, and either burned them or dried them out . . . I may try reheating in foil, but am afraid I'd end up with steamed wings (as bad as steamed bbq)

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Your reheat plan sounds just right to me, Andrew. I think it's probably worth the wait to reheat them slowly so they stay moist and don't char. We have a really good toaster oven, a DeLonghi that cost about $150 back in 1989 and is still going strong, and we use it a lot for leftover reheats. Much preferable to the nuke oven in my opinion.

I think your DeLonghi may be the same model I use! (an Alfredo Ultima model???) I would never nuke them, as in my (limited) experience that makes the wings tough . . . and - if one eats one or two cold - one can usually wait until the rest are fully hot!

I think the most amazing part of Steve's review is being missed.

The Buffalo Bills actually have fans?

They actually stop at Kroger to get a paper bag to conceal their identity before continuing to Rooties.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

I read it slightly differently . . .

their wings are so good and so reminiscent of home that they are actualy willing to come out of hiding

Stopped in yesterday...16 wings, all drums, well done, side of extra hot sauce, extra celery and blue cheese and a pitcher of Bud. GIT.....'ER......DONE.

OH...BTW, not sure I mentioned it. In addition to their own BBQ Sauce Rooties makes/markets their own Blue Cheese Dressing. This stuff is incredibly good...I've had chunks of Blue Cheese in it half as big as your thumb. You can by it online if you wish but it's a lot easier to just stop by, have an order of wings and buy some to take home.

Rooties is clearly the place to go to watch NFL football. I have eaten at Rooties the past 2 Sundays so my husband could watch his precious Steelers. Yesterday, I counted at least 7 different games on at one time, it is enough to make you dizzy. They are familiar with me and my motley crew of 5 or more at any given time. My stepdaughter doesnt eat meat, not an easy feat at a sports bar, but they have created her a sandwich that makes her feel special. I don't care for wings, but everyone that orders them when we go there has LOVED them. It is definitely one of our "go to" places.

This is the same way I feel about Bungalow Joes in Fern Creek. He literally has every game on Sunday showing on flat screens somewhere in the place.
