And yes,I get people don't want another in the East End.

LaGrange...I believe the space formerly occupied by Kaelin's Trackside (and Norma Jean's) remains available...the OC needs a quality breakfast/brunch destination.

No, Mike, it's Oldham County....the term "East End" is confined to Metro Louisvile, and that ends at the Jefferson County line.

For all intents and purposes it's the east end, especially as people that originally fled the city limits to avoid being part of louisville in address continue to move eastward but still want to participate in the city.

Yeah, I was gonna say. I don't think "East End" is subject to regulation. When I was a kid, back in the Jurassic Era, "The East End" meant the Highlands and Crescent Hill. I knew where St. Matthews was because I had an uncle who lived there. I didn't know there was anything beyond it. ;)

Times change, and the meaning of "East End" has altered to refer to the eastern suburbs, including - in my opinion - the contiguous suburbia in Oldham and Shelby.

No, I said "contiguous suburbs."

Fern Creek...this area is starving for restaurants. Our breakfast choices are fast food, Big Boy and Cracker Barrel :( If they think they won't make a killing they should swing by Aspen Creek on a Friday night and Cracker Barrel on a Saturday morning...there are lots of customers out here!

Check. How far out would people consider East End? EastWood? Fisherville?

I'm really curious.

I don't think I could draw it on a map, Kyle. It's got to be done by windshield survey. Keep driving as long as you see tract mansions. When the landscape turns to farms, you're done.

Back to the original discussion, I really don't have any problem seeing the parts of Oldham closer to Jefferson (including our mutual friend's new digs) as "East End" because the suburban subdivisions continue in a fairly uninterrupted pattern. Frankly, I'm not so sure about Shelby, but assumed that there's some development that crosses the county line. (Okay, looking at Google Maps in satellite view, Jefferson-Shelby. There are subdivisions around Simpsonville, but there's a distinct band of farmland between Lake Forest and there. Jefferson-Oldham around Prospect and around Crestwood, though, is a slam dunk.

Well, I can only speak from having lived in the "East End" (Westport Rd area) vs. being a 16 year resident of Oldham County in that the vast majority of people out here do NOT regard themselves as part of "East End" Louisville...so let's avoid a circular argument and conclude that the perceptions of most who actually reside here differ from those who don't.

...back on topic, we could STILL use (and support) a Wild Eggs in the OC.

Well said, John. I don't vote for metro mayor or council representatives. The only tax I pay is metro occupational. I'm not in your congressional district and receive no public services from the metro. Lately we've spent more on restaurants and shopping in the O.C.

If you were born and live in Jeffersonville or New Albany do you consider yourselves "North-Enders"?

The east-enders consider them "furaners".
