Yeah, or diFara's or Patsy's or quite a few of the other temples, mostly in Brooklyn.

I don't mean to rag on Marie about NYC street corner pizza-by-the-slice. I like it, too, and used to get it for lunch almost every day when I worked on West 36th Street. But I'm just not sure I can buy it as the Mecca of pizza up to which no other can measure. That orange grease dripping off is basically the telltale sign of cheap cheese, most of which is provided at substantial markups by family-connected suppliers.

Well ya better take one soon...They're closing.

BTW, After being confronted with a 3 hour wait at Grimaldi's last month we bailed to Patsy's Pizza (numerous locations in NYC) which is supposed to be "exactly" like Grimaldi's...I found Patsy's to be rather "meh". (Note: It's hard to say how good this pizza could have been since they screwed up the order and did not put the appropriate toppings on the pizza. Rather than making a new pizza they simply threw a handful of prosciutto at the original pizza and reheated it to almost burnt).

Found the "street pizza" to be VERY good at a couple of "I forget the name" places in the West Village area.

Damn, I guess I have to get back to NYC before next Nov. We we there last Dec. and walked right in, no wait at all. The place did fill up about 45 minutes after we got there.

The prosecution rests.

But yeah, I like it too. I'm not sure if it's objectively the best, though. Original Rays has come some distance from Naples ...

Oh baby...

FWIW, i appreciate lots of Different types of pizza. Loved Lou Maldanados in Chicago.

People love our little general store in Elizabeth. Frozen crusts and some kind of oven thingy. Me not so much.

But even bad Pizza is still pizza.

Yeah, I remember really bad pizza back in the day at the Pinebrook Lodge in Sullivan County, NY, a grubby diner/bar about halfway between White Lake and Narrowsburg. Bad pizza, but it was a hell of a lot better than no pizza.

My wife and I had to go to Louisville Tile to pick up some grout. Found BoomBozz. Pizza was excellent. Definitely not Original Rays style but I liked it. Had the Margherita and the White Pizza. The white pizza was a little cold but still good.

It was really empty in there at 1pm. Is that normal?

Had a couple pints of Schaflly too. :D

Which Boombozz was it, Art? There are about four - Bardstown at Eastern Parkway, Frankfort Avenue at Cannons Lane, Westport Village and way out Taylorsville Road at the Snyder. Really empty at 1 p.m. doesn't sound usual, but on any given day, who knows?

Bardstown at Eastern. There were a few people at the bar and one table.

Nice place. Would definitely go if I was in the area again.
