Habana Blues Cuban Tapas Restaurant!!!

I wish Leo and Rafa the best of luck. Go get them boys. I guess I'm going to have to do mexican food when I come back to Louisville to many cuban and tapas places opening hahahaha.

Kinda miss the Cherubs and clouds on the ceiling and that wretched mural as well but the new place looks GREAT!! Only the best of luck to them and it's a fine addition to the new downtown NA.

You can say that again. The cherubs should have stayed forever. They were like the Sistine Chapel ceiling, IMHO.

One of them had a most unusual sounding sandwich made of roasted turkey, cream cheese, strawberry jam and Swiss cheese. It was called an "Elena Ruth". My friend just raved about it!

I eat this same sandwich at Mojito's quite often.

ELENA RUZ SANDWICH



This is a strange combination, but believe me, it is very good! The story goes that Elena Ruz, a society young debutante for which the sandwich is named, would stop at this little all-night restaurant in Havana after leaving a dance with her group of friends. She asked the waiter if they would fix her this sandwich to her orders.....after checking with the kitchen, the waiter said ok. From then on, she would always ask for her Elena Ruz Sandwich and that is how it is now known.



2 slices of toasted sandwich bread

Cream Cheese

Strawberry Jam or preserves

Fresh Roasted Turkey slices (or leftover turkey will do)



Spread 1 slice of toasted white bread generously with the cream cheese Spread the other slice with the strawberry preserves. Place the turkey slices in the middle, close and enjoy!
