As far as I know, only the app dishes had always been available; something about wiring in their kitchen getting figured out. A couple more weeks is the bar word. And bar word is LAW.

They are really good about taking suggestions and implementing them.... When I first noticed the sweet potato waffle fries and ordered them, they arrived drenched in Bourbon Glaze wing sauce - which was waaaaaay too sweet for sweet potatoes - I mentioned to the bartender that they should serve the sauce on the side, since it overpowered the dish, and she took it straight to the kitchen. I've ordered them twice since, and both times the sauce was served on the side... And now I have a craving for sweet potato waffle fries, dammit....

The 'almost fully expanded' menu is pretty nice now - the reuben is a pretty solid sammich, and the Left Coast Salad is a monument to bacon and blue cheese crumbles (had I known that it would have as much blue on it, I definitely would not have ordered it with blue cheese dressing - it was 'almost' too much blue cheese, if there is such a thing). Both are very good.

To be honest, that's what caught our attention! The description had both of us wanting to try them. The "stinky" is just a name family members gave to the dish that an uncle used to make - Uncle Bill, I think. Anyway, everyone liked them and they just called them "Uncle Bill's stinky chips". He's no longer with them, and I assume this is their fond way of remembering him and his awesome stinky chips!

Sorry Ronnie, I like it - the name, the chips, and the reason they're on the menu :P !

Oh, I get it, and if it is a tribute to a family member, all the cooler, but in the broader scheme of things naming your food "stinky" seems like a pretty daring choice that can backfire in a bad way. Like those places that dare serve "$h!t on a Shingle." I'm not going to proudly serve you something with $h!t in the name.

But at the end of the day, it's colorful and unique and if that works, then go for it!

Anyone up for chòu dòufu?
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

as long as we use that name, we are good, but you call it stinky tofu and you've lost me.

I believe at this point they are now at full menu. I really do love so many of the things that I have tried there. The fish sandwich, the coconut shrimp, the Caribbean ribeye. Yesterday I had the wedge salad which was sensational, and the grilled chicken sandwich. It was a marinated chicken breast with applewood smoked bacon, melted cheddar on a toasted kaiser. The seafood bisque also rocks. I will be back again for sure. Probably before Friday...lol.

Nice. I'm glad they had ironed out the kitchen. I'm anxious to give some of their Main dishes a shot.

I popped into BJ's this afternoon to grab a quick bite...just a burger and fries, which I rate better than the usual fast food varieties.

I did have somewhat of a mystifying situation though. About the time my food was brought to my table, the boss called a meeting up front with all the employees. They were only about 15 feet from where I was eating. I only caught bits and pieces of the "lecture" but apparently someone the boss knew had come in and sat for 20 minutes without being acknowledged or served.

Been there done that (Buffalo Wings and Rings). I never returned.

Unfortunately I finished my food and waited almost 30 minutes for the waitress to bring me my bill. I was never offered a refill on my drink (until I was ready to head out the door). Late in the "lecture" the boss apparently realized I was tapping my debit card on the table and sent my server over to rectify the situation.

Granted, it's a sports bar. 9 out of 10 people are in there to drink and watch the game. I was the oddball who just dropped in to try the food. But is it really acceptable for the boss to lecture the staff in plain sight (and hearing) of the customers? And is it also acceptable to keep dining patrons waiting to pay their bill during said "lecture"?

Stopped in Bungalow Joe's to watch the game Fri. nite - the place was packed! Mostly UofL fans, a few Uk fans watching the remaining SEC tourny games.

I had a cup of the seafood bisque and a fish sandwich. The bisque was good (hubby had a bowl - really liked it a lot), but I thought the fish sandwich was the best part of my meal. Beer battered (I think she told me Falls City), served w/ fries and an AWESOME tartar sauce made with capers - yuuummmm!

If you want something other than the typical "Fish-Fry" fish sammich - try Bungalow Joe's. I'll be back for it, and not just during lent. This may become my "fish sammich and a beer" place 8)
