I understand the kid issues and doubt I would take my young ones to Wild Eggs once they hit 2. However, I still don't get the allure of IHOP. If kid-friendly is the issue, I'm going to Cracker Barrell. Their food actually has SOME character to it (even if it is chock-full of lard).

At least IHOP never had issues with firing people for being gay or welcoming local Klan chapters in the south to have meeting there like Cracker Barrel.

Yeah, that kind of thing has pretty much spoiled Cracker Barrel for me. :P

(In, um, fairness, though, haven't they set themselves, er, straight, and apologized and made amends on the gay-discrimination thing?)

Other than the one egg dish I had the first time I ate at WE...What are some of the other non-egg dishes people have tried and liked?

The CHC is my go-to meal, as I'm not much of an eggs person at all.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Violet I'm turning Violet (blueberry pancakes)
Any of the waffles or French toasts - I'm had 'em all. All excellent.

My enduring fav, however, may be the granola. Try it, you'll understand.

They have the best egg salad as well. And it's seriously enough for 2 people to eat. Their "The King would eat these" pancakes are sinfully good. Chunks of banana and chocolate chips served with peanut butter syrup and topped with whip cream.....mmmmmmm!

The grits of the day are almost always memorable, and I like Kalamity Kate's Benedict, a sort of Southwestern take on eggs Benedict.

If only I could get them to fix the smoked bacon, roasted garlic, mushroom and white cheddar grits again!!

The french toast is some of the best I've had at a restaurant, the waffles are quite good and the farmer's market skillet is pretty good too (even sans the eggs!). They are pretty good about customizing orders if you want something without eggs.

They have single pancakes and single pieces of french toast for $1.75 each. If your kids like eggs, two eggs are $2.25.

Yes, there are a lot of more expensive dishes on the menu, but that doesn't mean the place isn't kid friendly. IHOP's kids menu seems to be about the same. While the online menu doesn't offer prices, I can't see the price difference for "kid friendly" items to be so large as to make an incredible difference.
