Wow, I've never seen that on their sign  What's so wrong with them holding to their personal beliefs? They have to make the same amount of money in 6 days that the other chains do in 7 to stay profitable.

The traffic in that area is unbearable.

"When I was growing up" the horrible traffic was always on Hurstbourne around 64. Seems much of that traffic has migrated on down Hurstbourne and onto South Bardstown. I miss the days, circa 2000, where I could drive the Snyder in very limited traffic. Now it's basically gridlock from 3-6 everyday.

Not really on topic, but the I-65 North and South ramps onto the Snyder east have to be one of the worst designs in the city. Have to believe the same state engineer who did Spaghetti Junction did that ramp as well. Or his son, haha. There's the two-lane south ramp which merges with the north ramp. Then that combined ramp which is 2 (or 3!) lanes wide merges into an exit-only lane on the Gene Snyder. So everyone is trying to get as far left as possible, except those people trying to to get off at Preston, some of which were already heading east on the GS.

I saw what I would call a "how in the world did that go down?" nine-car pile up right there last week. My best guess is that driver one tried to merge all the way over at once, driver two tried to go in the opposite direction, driver three tried to sneak by on the shoulder, drive four gunned the engine to cut him off, driver five slammed on his brakes...

I would have laughed at the stupidity of it but was more concerned about injuries.

I think what doomed that shop was that it was beyond the subliminal barrier of the Snyder and they didn't have a drive-thru. We used to stop their occasionally but at some point they stopped taking credit cards, so I knew it was only a matter of time. I would think that these days a coffee shop located in an area where there's not a lot of pedestrian traffic really needs to have a drive-thru in order to make it.
Is it just me, or do others perceive Aspen Creek to be a direct knockoff of Cheddar's?

I'm with Megan. I certainly never took them being closed Sunday as "we're in Church, you should be too." I see nothing wrong with them doing business the way they see fit. It certainly seems to be working just fine for them.

I don't know anything about the company's views on church and don't care - I just find it a pain that I can't get a sandwich on Sunday when I get the urge.

Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy is a devout Christian who has taught Sunday School for over 51 years and whose religious beliefs permeate the company to this day. The company's official statement of corporate purpose says that the business exists "to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A." The chain invests heavily in community services (especially for children and teenagers) and scholarships. Cathy's beliefs are also responsible for one of the chain's distinctive features: All Chick-fil-A locations (company-owned and franchised, whether in a mall or freestanding) are closed on Sundays.[17]

Megan, nothing really. I'm not religion-bashing here. You'll find us at St. Matthew's Episcopal most Sundays. ;) But there's something about pushing your faith on other people that I find a little uncomfortable, and I read that into the Chick-Fil-A airport signs. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. It felt like a pretty funny line when I wrote it, though. :D

As someone that is not of any practicing religion, I do not see them pushing their Faith upon anyone. If the signs said " We close on Sunday to go to Church. You should too! Open on Monday!! " Then , I be a little dubious of their chicken agenda.

Your approach has made me so open to their approach. /sarcasm.

Oh, yes. I forgot. People need to be open to others approach in the first place.

My fault.

Finished? If you're talking to me, okay, thanks, Kyle. I don't really see any merit in carrying on a continued back-and-forth about this.

As mentioned earlier, they are free to do business as they see fit. I find their "preachiness" a bit much and choose not to eat there. Wasn't this the chain that allegedly fired a Muslim employee/franchisee because he refused to participate in an "employee Christian prayer"?

We were recently over in Clarksville looking for something quick...stopped in at the freestanding Chick fil a I had not eaten at a stand alond one in years...and I was quite uncomfortable.
I consider myself a Christian, although I don't attend church on a regular basis, but my 25 year old son was with me and he has his own personal beliefs, the almost subliminal music got to me.
I will never again eat inside one again.....my 2 cents
