Was that price for a steak you could almost gone to one of the high end steakhouses we have in town! I'm sure the steak would have been much better and you certainly wouldn't have felt like you were ripped off like you did here.

If we hadn't had our son and his friend with us, we would have left. It just seemed like walking out because of price would have marred his evening and we didn't want that. At that point, we didn't know how bad the food would be.

We are definitely a "shop local" family and don't go to chains. We don't ever go to 4SL at night and have absolutely no interest in it. In retrospect, we absolutely knew better, but decided to take a chance thinking our son might think it was cool. I think that makes it even worse since we did know better! Ugh!

My new employer from Wisconsin, her 8 month old son and I went out to dinner Friday night. We had two excellent appetizers, ( banana peppers and a blackened tuna) , a great burger, a fish sandwich, glass of wine and arum hurricane. All very tasty and for less than the cost of one steak at MML. AND we had wonderful views of the river. Thank you Captains Quarters!

P.S. Our service was wonderful. Our waitress went well beyond the usual call of duty. Even a very good 8 month old can add a strain on servicing a table but she handled it with ease and grace.

Do not want to hijack topic !

Thanks you for your kind words Carla :D

Wish you would of asked for me I was roaming the grounds somewhere !

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Jessica Devine wrote:The food was actually pretty good and fairly priced when I worked at Maker's Mark Bourbon House & Lounge (they made us say the entire name because of licensing issues or something) when they opened. Unfortunately, the food, at the time, was all the place had going for it (in my opinion) which is why I only stayed for seven months.

Agreed. I work nearby, and have had a few lunches and light dinners/happy hours there over the years. The food used to be a little creative, and pretty good, but over the last two years or so it's gotten pretty bad and the prices have sky-rocketed.
