We have been to the Tuscany on the Outer Loop multiple times ans have never been disappointed. They have had some interesting specials - like Scallops Piccata - that we have enjoyed.

Annemarie,

What restaurant has taken a popular dish, with great profit and low-over-head to themselves , off the menu?

Terri Beam wrote:I do believe it's Tuscany. Apparently there is also one on Outer Loop. I checked out the website, and the menu looks varied. I'm not sure how this one slipped under my radar.

Has anyone tried it?

The Tuscany on Outer Loop (near New Cut) is pretty good. Interestingly, the chef and staff are all from Mexico ... and the chef spent several years cooking in Italy, and he knows his stuff.

Two thumbs up for Tuscany. It does have a Mexican restaurant feel...but solid Italian food. The wine list is sparse but inexpensive.

I don't know. Ask Corporate for a better reason for one they provided. Even when a couple dishes remain popular, does not mean their entire business is still steady; it 's quite possible their trying to revamp a menu to draw a crowd once again. That would be my only guess.

Having read this thread, I'm now having painful flashbacks to my work experience at Tumblewood in the Jefferson Mall area. Talk about a company completely focused on immediate results. Yes, I know ownership has changed hands since then (as discussed on this site), so that's about all you need to know about the idiots running the ship a few years back.

I'd take cheap shots at the clientele, but, eh, those are my roots. Maybe I'll take the long way (i.e. I-65 to the Outer Loop) to get to my parents' place today. You know, go down memory lane. And then again, maybe I won't do that.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
