WAIT! If I recall correctly, they had only been open for a few months, and let's face it, we don't get much practice for finer dining here in Jeff. Excuses excuses I know, but the owners have taken great steps to generate interest (drink specials, music, all things not normal up here, I tell you) and I have to say it took (dare I say cojones?) to bring up this thread in this forum as a newbie.

My plea is from emotion rather than logic, but give them a chance! It sounds as if the problem is corrected, and from the chef's point of view, he wants to cook for you, and he's good, too. I don't think Jeffersonville is ready for Roger just yet, but we are ready for his passionate push for among other things, dining choices, and as long as I can visibly see the owners are investing in their restaurant (signage, attending Taste of Across the River, firing as needed and hiring a new manager) I want to push for them as well.

On another point, TP's post shows how dining really is more than about the food... Having changed professions to land here, the psychology (which I agree with) is vely intelesting to me. Anyhoo, give Cozza a chance to show what they can do! (guys, back Al and me/Jeff up!) :)

TP Lowe wrote:You may be the new manager, but to have a response more than 90 days later (including when I asked for an owner/manager that night and one never appeared) is beyond the pale. I think I'll pass on your kind offer.

In fairness, though, Clint mentions that he is the NEW manager. It looks to me as if some changes are being made. While I respect your right to your decision, TP, if it were me, I'd look on the belated response as evidence that there's a new sheriff in town, and things might be changing.

I recognized his "new" status in my post, Robin. There are just too many good options in our area to return to a place that offered such a horrible experience. I reiterate that the evening I was splayed across the floor of their main dining room and asked for an owner or manager no one appeared to apologize. In my opinion that its a fatal error.

There are times when bits and piece's of life's weirdness are irreconcilable. This may be one of those times. I haven't returned to McDonald's since that traumatic moment when I discovered it was not a mom and pop eatery, but an international chain. :D

Jeffersonville's getting it, I think. How long has it been since the Inn on Spring operated?

And: Clint, you never actually told me you were the manager at Cozza, did you? If so, I apologize for missing it. Short term memory seems to be deserting me here lately.

I am sorry that you feel that way, but I do understand your frustration. I can only control things moving forward and note the past concerns. I am encouraging comments, both positive and negative to ensure that we are continually improving all areas of the business.

I appreciate the supportive posts and yes, I am a newbie - especially to this site. Roger, I may not have told you about this position. Since I have been here it has been difficult to make my usual weekly trek (or two) to the BSB. To be sure, service is by far the biggest challenge we face in this industry. I do know, from personal experience, that the general level of service in most restaurants continues to decline whether we are talking about McD's or "fine" dining. We are building a group of regulars and hope to build through the positive word of mouth they are spreading.

Hi Alison, by Roger I mean THE Roger Baylor, without whom I would know very little of the action going down in New Albany. He is right, the Come Back Inn is great, and a staple, and there are a few others, but if y'all could see the growth in downtown NA in the last 2 years, especially in the way of food, we definitely could use the positive motion in that direction here in Jeffersonville.

The east end of Louisville sure the hell is.

Are you all kidding? I'm not sure that I'm ready for me.

But I'm flattered just the same. Thank you.

Roger -

Actually heard some folks on the patio tonight debating why New Albany got the nod in the recent LEO poll. Your name came up more than once. Credit where credit is due.
