seriously...
i've had more IV's in me than i care to count.

I was accidentally shot when i was 15 in a target practicing accident (two holes in my aorta, had 2/3 of my liver resected),
and literally had IVs in my arms, forearms, hands, feet, and some crazy ones surgeons had to put into my neck/shoulder blade area.

I say my hands because i don't deal with IV's well to begin with (my blood pressure drops and i pass out),
and they always always never work in my arm and have to be redone.

Always work in my hand though; and forearm as a secondary.

...Oh, and i hate fainting.

did you say in her belly button?
 :?:

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

In the "arm art", sweetie, that's where his good vein was, his hands were too tough.

WOW! You are a lucky soul, I am assuming good docs and rapid transport, too. I have learned to listen to my patients when they tell me their best spots. Since I am usually doing them in a small space at 60 MPH, it pays to get it right the 1st time!!! (Though hubby does not understand how I can do that, but can't hardly give myself a decent manicure!) I don't like being stuck either, so I keep that in mind when I have to do IVs. :)

hey HEY ... let's get back on topic.

Bieres de Garde, Clancy Franco-grub, and plenty of Edith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel (okay, he's Belgian) flowing from the speakers.

Seriously, this was one heck of a meal last year. I'm looking forward to this year's edition, and pleased as before that we can get away with things like this in downtown New Albany.

Makes me all misty eyed and thirsty.

Well, despite cooking for a living, i like to think i have nice soft hands.

Yeah, the docs said something about with one hole in your aorta, you're lucky to live 3 minutes.
Almost all internal bleeding, which may have been what did it.

I was actually on a farm in BFE Kentucky, and had to get airlifted to UK.
probably was close to 45 minutes before i hit the ER.

...needless to say, i have a soft spot in my heart for EMT's and those who staff ER's and trauma centers.

So thank you (from the bottom of my mended heart) for doing what you do.

Funny - I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the odd correlation in me having tattoos and hating needles.

Holy cow Batman!
I just noticed that this is on a Sunday.

I'm so used to skimming over these because i can never go.

On that note... where's the menu Dave!?

....now to see if i have it in my budget after moving. :?

Be careful. Clancy might have you in the kitchen in return for a scholarship.

I just e-mailed you the original image Chef Dave C. is looking for in his avatar. If you beat me out of a Bastille dinner we'll have to arm wrestle over dessert.

Honorable Mr. Pierce:

Wow, I don't think I've ever been referred to as 'Chef Ray' before.
Ethan, pastry girl, pastry bitch, chef, numerous other nicknames of the like - yes. But not 'Chef Ray'
I suppose i could revert to what my dad always has said, 'don't call me Mr. Ray - that's my father.'; but i'll leave that to him.
I'm pretty sure i wouldn't stand up well to arm wrestling.
Don't let the tattoos fool you.
...That's to cover up the puny arms, and to force nurses to put IVs in my hands (long story, involving a few surgeries...)

Well Chef Ray, I didn't call you Mr. Ray because your sig. reads Pastry Chef and I have to take you on your word. I assume you have the education/experience based on your place of employment. Be proud of your title. I have fought the whole title thing all of my professional life. I have no formal brewing education and probably never will, yet I do own up to Brewmaster. Not Master Brewer.

I can say that last years Bastille Day Feast was over the top and if Chef Dave says he put more thought into the beer food paring this year he either drank to much of the pairing or it will be epic. I hope to meet you there unless I get bumped.

And if it makes you feel better I'll call you Nancy  Sorry, Chef Nancy.

Hey.
I like King Crimson myself.
I'm a big fan of Tony Levin.

...my brother actually just purchased a Megatar, which is much like the Chapman Stick that Tony's been known to play w/ KC.

He's more into KC than i am, and he's 20.

Let me know what would be the most convenient time for Bastille Day.
I'm can't be picky for pro bono.
