I wasn't looking for recommendations on where to go or where not to go. I could care less about what is going on with the immigration uproar here. And I would not commend any immigrant workers in Louisville (especially if they are illegally) any more than I would commend any native workers in the food industry. Besides, most of the immigrant workers I see are working construction (illegal immigrants).

Maybe everyone in Arizona is the body politic and just like in the 1990s when Arizona wanted to not acknowledge MLKs B-day as a holiday, a proper boycott will persuade the nativists to rethink their ways.

How did you determine they were illegal?
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

First, I never mentioned illegal immigrants. For clarity, I'll define immigrants as 1st and 2nd generation. It seem once you hit 4th or 5th you start to think your heritage stretches thousands of year back in this country.

Why should we commend immigrants for their contributions to our society? In restaurant terms (I'm going to make the arguable assumption that if you have difficulty with English, you probably are a 1st or 2nd generation immigrant.):

Thanks for:

La Rosita, et al., for showing Louisville an alternative to Tumbleweed and Chi chi's

Mayan Cafe - for that voodoo that you do.

Havana Rumba/Mojitos - God bless

Cheap and/or good Asian cuisine (Vietnam Kitchen, Sushi in general, $5 lunch combos, Korean BBQ) - What would it be like without you.

Indian food (Sitar, etc.) It seems like only yesterday you weren't here.

And to all the immigrants working in the back of the house long hours for next to no pay, Thanks. You enrich our country.

I lived in in Phoenix and the best Mexican restaurant chosen by the locals was CarlosOBriens. I miss this place to date whenever going to the local joints here in Louisville.

Forgot to post this. We ran out of time but wish we had walked up there - right across from the Biltmore.

Geordie's Restaurant is excited to announce that lunch is back! Lunch will be offered Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 am- 3:00 pm. Our lunch concept is a little bit different than most restaurants- guests pay what they think is FAIR for their lunch entrée. No prices, no kidding. Come and check it out. Parties of 12 or more please call (602) 955-4079 for more details.

I'm curious to hear where you went as I haven't been back in about 8 years or so. I also wanted to see if any of my recommendations panned out for you.
