We had pizza and Frascelli's in Crestwood last night and happened to notice the El Tarasco next door was deader than a doornail. MOF I'm in that area a lot and can't ever recall seeing the place even remotely busy. I'm curious...is it the food or the location ?...I dunno, I've never been in there.

For anyone who gets to La Grange, the Acapulco Mexican Restaurant (unknown connection to the Acapulco on Zorn) is pretty darn good. The service is great, the place is spotless and the food is a notch above most TexMex I've tried.

We ate at the El Tarasco in Crestwood Sunday night and it was packed out by the time we left with about 3 or 4 parties waiting. Must have been just at dusk when we left (whatever time that is.)

Kewl. Glad to heart they do a good business after all. Guess I've just cruised by at the wrong time. So is the food any good ?

I had chili rellenos. They were good but not my favorites. The breading on them was a bit odd and in some spot a little underdone. The cheese stuffing was pretty much what you get everywhere. So, serviceable but not fantastic. Everyone else had quesadillas of different sorts. They smelled heavenly and looked great. Portions were ample, service was very good. The crowd I was with aren't really foodies so there was little discussion about how their food was. We had little 'uns with us too so that was a bit of a distraction. Still, pretty much everyone cleaned their plates. I think the restaurant will service the area well. I'd go back but I may order something different.
