Yeah, I wasn't trying to poke fun at you, Justin .. I figured from the formatting that it was a Website copy. Guess those folks are new in town. Probably don't even know where the old Sears used to be.

No poke suspected. I edited the original post.

That's correct, it was Oldenburg then it was Ernestos :!:

Going back quite a way, but wasn't it something like Cork & Cleaver before that?

Oldenburg built the building from the ground up. Not to say there wasn't a c&c on the same site at some point.

The Cork and Cleaver was in Middletown. I think the building in question is off Breckenridge Lane....that was an Ernesto's as well.

Oh, silly me. I was picturing the Ernesto's in Middletown, which I'm pretty sure was a Cork/something & Cleaver/something.

Cork and Cleaver was a Steak & Ale clone. Popular in the same era. My last experience at Cork and Cleaver I was playing acoustic guitar in the bar...I was personally entertained watching a mouse scoot across the dimly lit floor for most of the evening.

And if I recall correctly, the place that is now W.W. Cousin's (and has been for some 25 years) used to be a Steak & Ale.
