Construction finally begins this week. I will know better in the next few weeks of a real opening date. Cannot tell you the frustration we have all felt looking at the oven and wanting to fire it up. I promise it will be worth the wait.

I do have a question for our resident beer nazi's. We picked out a very nice beer glass and are toying with placing our logo on the glass. Does a logo irritate the purists? I don't want to obscure any of the fine bubbles and other things that someone might look for in a glass of fine beer? Anyway I have the rendering of the new logo on our facebook.

I think the purists get irritated when you use a logo glass for its competitor's beer, Madeline. I think a store logo should be fine, especially since you're a pizzeria, not an artisan brewpub. :)

I like your logo, by the way.

Me, too. Also: Thrilled there's not really an apostrophe in the name. Fix the thread title, great guru!

Can't fix 'em all, but I fixed the original post.

Assuming, of course, that the logo didn't just leave the apostrophe OUT ...

Beautiful glass Madeline! A good trick and constant reminder for your bartenders is to place the top of the logo where the fill line should be. That way, if beer is at the line you've given a full pour and no "waste".

Thanks Robin. We worked with a local designer here in Louisville. If I can make a plug the name of his company is Farmout Studios. Also, thanks for changing the title.

Steve:

Thank you. That is a good tip and something I would not have thought of.

Thank you for asking. Did I mention the Vogue building is a little old. We have had some interesting challenges the past few weeks but it does appear everything is in order. We have pushed back the opening till the first week in February. By then you will all be finished with your New Year's resolutions to lose weight and will be ready for a pizza! :D

Glad to hear you have overcome the obstacles :!: I'm sure there are many, between the old building and the new to Louisville oven (which ensure cause problems with the metro inspectors) you probably have had your share. We're all certainly looking forward to your opening. Hope everything goes smoothly the rest of the way.
