soooo....we're 50 minutes into this, and based on the "leading" editing....I think it's going to be Hosea, Carla and Jeff in the finale. BUT....if Jeff doesn't win....it'll be Hosea, Carla and Stefan.... let's see if I'm right....

What can I say? If Stephan is on his game, I think he's untouchable. Carla's down home cooking will impress in its simplicity. However, Stephan, in spite of his arrogance, can do some special things in the kitchen. If I was going to choose a restaurant amongst the chefs left in the competition, I would go out of the way to go to Stephan's place. I would hire Fabio to do the front at any restaurant in the world. However, is it his cooking or personality that is keeping him in the competition. Thanks. Phil

Look, I understand that Stefan's personality is not nearly as welcoming and lovely as Carla's. But that type of ego is always present in the kitchen, and one should get over that early on. I have yet to see him be nasty to anyone, or try to be hurtful.

Not to start an I Heart Stefan team (Team Carla here), but I find Hosea, I mean Ilan 2: Electric Boogaloo, to be much more disgusting. Next week's preview of Hosea's behavior makes me want to vomit. He thinks because he doesn't like Stefan's attitude he can justify being a tool himself. Much like Ilan, who started off whatever in talent, provided some humourous whatever commentary midseason, and transformed into a holier-than-thou whiny child at the end.

prickly, cocky attitude against competitors

vs.

cheating "against" your significant other, the person you should hold most important

Hmm...

I can only hope that the fates don't reward him with luck next week, though that will leave his bag of tricks a little lonely.

On another note, check out Daddy Tom's blog on bravotv.com. In it he says that Jeff was pretty much out from the beginning, as the sterno's he used tainted his oysters so badly that the judges could smell it before they were served. Sucks, bc I thought he should have gone on, (yes, even before Stefan) but in competition, even if you cook well, things happen...

Now, back to my Fabio induced cheesecake...

Arianne is a sous chef for Chef Freitag on Iron Chef America at the moment.

SHOULD is the operative word. Hosea wasn't as bad as the preview looked, but I still feel ill. Didn't they learn their lesson w/Ilan? I guess the is THE parable for overconfidence and resting on laurels, but dang. A fitting disappointing end to a season of the same.

I JUST WANT TO SHAKE CARLA. Damn, girl, Casey LOST. She does not need to be redesigning your menu on the fly. And frankly I'm quite happy to see Stephan lose. There's confidence (which is a good thing) and there's over confidence, arrogance and his generally better than everyone attitude. Although great chefs(even pretty good chefs) tend to be supremely confident, there's a way to act and a way not to act. However, given the field of cheftestants, Hosea was not the best - just the last one standing, IMO.

Wasn't that Leah hanging all over Hosea in a final scene?

Agreed. Though I think we'll be seeing much more of Carla, whereas Hosea will always be known as the worst chef who won on the worst season.
