Because I was trying to increase the controversy level by baiting Steve P into joining the thread?

<chuckle>...There are a lot of things I'd -like- to say but I guess I really don't have a dog in this hunt. I made the decision some time ago to let my wallet do (most of) my talking by simply not buying Roger's beer....EVER. It's a personal thing rooted in MY principles...kinda like not shopping at WalMart. It's a shame really because David Pierce does brew some good (albeit over priced) beer...but then I'm sure that part of the equation ($$$) is not in his hands.

It's a free country, drink whatever you see fit...I do.

Tell you what rat boy. A 20oz imperial pint of beer at Bank St and NABC Pizzeria is less than $5.00. If you can find quality beer for less go drink it. Of course your low and slow outlook on life prevents you from traveling so far.

Just continue to purchase your AB beer in 30 packs from chains. You'll likely never notice the difference anyway. Btw where's your fake accent. Had to read this twice - wasn't sure it was really you. Whatever that is.

If you think NABC is overpriced, I recommend you stay away from Holy Grale.

But thats okay, more for me! 8)

Robin..Please address Shane's clear violation of forum guidelines as he referred to another poster as "rat boy." This is in clear violation of the standard you have set forth as behavior permissible in a neighborhood bar.

If Shane referred to someone as a "rat boy" in a neighborhood bar or that shitty restaurant in Indiana that he keeps asking guys to come have a drink with him at, it would not be sociably acceptable

Brian C constantly annoyed you with general asshole behavior and was banned. Shane personally attacked a forum member by calling him "rat boy". Will he be banned or receive different treatment because he is "in the club"?

By the way, and I swear it wasn't me, did you all see your pompous asses being bashed on Craigslist Rants and Raves this week?

Steve's thumbnail is a rat. Not condoning the name calling ONE BIT, just pointing out what could be an easily over-looked item.

Troy,
SteveP chooses to represent himself as a rat. Why would he object to being addressed as such. However, if SteveP was offended by my address, I apologize. If he wants to be thought of otherwise though he should change his avatar to something else and stop speaking in tongues.

Have you ever visited the restaurant you just called shitty? Doubt it. They require shoes and shirt for service there. Probably not your kind of place.

Now it's just getting stupid.

I would like to call out the beer snobs' opinions as elitist but I do the same thing... In other areas.

Take music for example. If you try to tell me that Nickelback is a band worthy of respect or repeated listenings, I discount every opinion you have from that point forward. You can give me the most logical argument in the world but I won't listen. Your opinion about music is crap forever.

You could say I'm close minded but I just have very strong opinions about music. I can see that others feel just as passionately about beer, whether it be taste, marketing or incentive. The difference is that I own my music snobbery. If you beer snobs just came right out and said that you think you're better than everyone else in all beer related matters, I might give you a pass.

Instead, you like to stir the pot, then take the high road. You ask for a reasonable debate and when you get it, you fake interest. When all else fails... you sling mud.

So basically what I'm trying to say is... Own your douchebaggery. Otherwise you're just talking in circles.

Gary, somehow I can't help but wonder if this is aimed at me. I am a music lover myself. I prefer to listen to my music on my hifi rig. It consists of Bob Carver separates and Quad ESL electrostatic speakers. The room I listen in has its own dedicated 100amp service and the system itself has three dedicated 20amp circuits. I appreciate well recorded music and am most thrilled by live music. I am attending the Roger Water's concert this weekend.

I don't however have any problem with people who like what I consider music of lesser quality. I also don't have a problem with people who like beer of what I consider lesser quality. I do reserve the right however, to disagree if those people claim that their compressed music played through their car speakers or cheap stereos is of equal quality to my music. I also, disagree if those people who like low quality beer try to claim that it is the equivalent to beer made by local craftsmen/women. If that makes me a snob then I will own that.

I just came from that "shitty" restaurant where two of my best friends where not drinking craft beer. You know what, It never occurred to me deride them for it. Of course they didn't request Nicelback.

Cheers Gary!

Shane,

It was directed at you, and Roger a little. The two of you have said some smarmy things. I just think it would be easier on you both if you just came out and said that you consider people who drink massed produced beer... well... sheep.

It's how you feel. You've danced around it but never seem to have the stones to say it outright. You can continue to deny that perception, but as we all know... Perception is reality. Especially on a message board.

And no... That does not mean I want to have this conversation face to face somewhere.

Dear Jackie, Actually it's a hamster...a cute loveable little hamster...From the KIA Soul commercial. The soundtrack for the commercial is Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO...which is exactly what I'm doing right now...Laughing My F-ing Ass Off.

Ya'll people are crazzzzeee up in there.

You want me to admit it because it would be easier on me Gary? I suppose sometimes lying is the easiest thing. You really think that I am afraid to say something here?

I don't think that people who drink mass produced beer are sheep or inferior people. I do think that people who hide their motivations and pretend to be something they are not are inferior people.

A hamster is just a rat using another name. I withdraw the "rat boy" comment but that's how I think of you. As Gary just said "perception is reality."

Dear Shane, It's OK...really...No need to "withdraw the "rat boy" comment". That was Troy calling for you to be censored, not me. Lord knows I've called people a few things on this forum, so in the spirit of what goes around comes around, I accept your use of the term "rat boy". I will say though that given your rather advanced literary skills, I would have expected something more...ohhhh what's the word I'm looking for..."flowery", yes that's it flowery....Perhaps now that you've had a chance to sober up you can come up with a more memorable "perception"....Please, by all means, have at it...The English lesson alone is worth the price of admission.

BTW...and I'll be brief as I really must retire to the Veranda to take my morning coffee, I'm not sure I agree with Gary Z's statement that "perception is reality". I mean, until I actually SEE you carrying a purse or walking into the womens restroom I guess I'm not prepared to accept this perception I have of you.

I wish you good day sir. I shall be on the relaxing on the veranda most of the day, call should you need anything.

Yawn, not drunk just really tired. Working till late every evening and weekends for several weeks has caught up with me. :| This jewel of a thread has been an entertaining distraction though. Apparently for others as well. Thanks Ron

Steve, this latest post of yours could be mistaken for a lucid person attempting to communicate on an adult level. It sorta reminds me of someone. SteveP before the identity crisis? :?

Flowery? Sure I do that among other things. Depends on what my focus is at the time.

If your focus these days is on men carrying purses then this thread might be a good place to hunt your dog after all. I count at least three people that seem to be preoccupied with feminine hygiene products. You should check their purses first.

Sorry, best I can do right now. :) Cheers SteveP – wish I could retire.
