Hubby and I will be able to join you guys for our first HotBytes off-line get-together. Do you space for one more half-pan? Not 100% certain what I'm bringing; probably a side-dish/casserole.

If need be, it will be fine in a warm oven with other dishes instead of on a chafer.

Lois

P.S.: Do we need ICE? Sounds like you've got a couple of entrees, drinks, bread and butter, etc. all lined up. We can grab a bag of ice if it's needed.

Friends, I'm sorry that I won't be able to make it today. I spent the entire weekend rehearsing for a benefit concert at my high school and completely forgot about the potluck until late last night. I haven't had a chance to do any of my work for next week so I think I better stay home and do it. I hope everyone enjoys themselves and a lot of donations are collected.

Status report: The wonderful aroma of a big pot of stew is wafting upstairs, the cornbread's out of the oven, and I hear the cook singing quietly to herself. It's all good. :D

Sahhhhh-weet.

The ribs are on - running the usual hour behind schedule.

The Cabbages are made.

The sides are on "warm"...hope they don't get overdone.

The cheesecakes are looking luscious.

It breaks my heart- but I can't figure out a way to make it tonight. I'll be there in spirit for sure. I'll be sure to send Dare to Care a check and note it's part of this fundraiser.
Eat well, my friends.

THANKS to everyone for making the get-together tonight so awesome! I wish we could have stayed longer but my husband just can't sit or stand very long and he was in a lot of pain after a couple of hours. (He's had 8 back surgeries.)

I loved having the opportunity to meet so many of you. It was a real pleasure. Oh! And the food!!! Don't forget the food!!! It was sumptious! So much variety. So much food. So many choices.

Again, thanks to each of you for making our first off-line so much fun.

Lois

'Twas a lovely evening, indeed. Great friends, great food. Who can ask for anything more? Thank you, Steve for organing. Thank you, Ed for obtaining such an excellent facility. :D

Good friends, new friends, good food and a good cause...pretty much says it all for me. Thank you to everyone for your kind and thoughtful donations, they will help provide over 1000 meals for Dare to Care recipients.

Highlights of the evening for Becky and I were meeting 6 new forumites (and BTW, thank you again Lois for the homemade Andouille) along with getting to visit with many of the "regulars". We consider ourselves blessed to have fallen in with such a wonderful and diverse crowd. We're looking forward to seeing all of you again soon but in the interim wish each and everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Special "Thanks" to Ed for covering the use/rental of the Pavilion and to Dan Thomas for his fine presentation and organization skills...You can -say- it "weren't nothing" but it sure means a lot to the rest of us.

Re: Hotbytes Potluck Dinner - lost my sugar bowl

Hey - did any of you see or pick up my Tupperware sugar and "sweetner" (creamer) bowls? No big deal, but they are the handiest things to take to things like this because they seal up.

Thanks!!

Hmmmmm...Can't recall seeing anything like that. I'll ask my lovely bride if she did.

Hey Suzi, When we were cleaning up I noticed that you had left them behind and I think that Linda and Mark B. might have taken them for you, but I'm not entierly sure. :? I think we can figure it though.

Also, Colleen and I had a great time! :D The food and conversation were wonderful. What an interesting group of people drawn togeather by a common interest. I can't wait until the next one.
My hat off to Ed and Steve for organizing such a great event!

Since Suzi's lost has been found, did anyone see a tallish, black Magnum pepper grinder. I apparently left it there.

It was a great evening--Bob and I had a wonderful time. ALL the food was outstanding and there certainly was enough to feed most of Oldham Co!!! A sincere thanks to everyone involved in organizing.

Thanks, Carol
