They had an actual Comfy Cow roaming the plaza today. (person dressed in cool cow costume) We stopped by the plaza to visit Westport Wine and Whisky and ended up spending 2 hours roaming the shops.

That shopping center is a wonderful addition to Louisville. My 3 year old got her face painted for free and had a blast at the Make a Wish event.

Hmmmm......I think I have the inside scoop on this place (married to the bakery manager for 20+ years and she has mad skills!!). I'll keep you posted and I think they are slated to open December 1st (though I may be wrong). A welcome addition to Louisville without a doubt....!!

I had the Dulche de Leche de Salte ice cream and a lemon bar. The ice cream was great, maybe the deepest caramel flavor on earth. The lemon bar was pretty good. The filling was great, with a real lemon flavor, but the crust was on the thick side for me. I think I only gained 4 pounds.

Went there today with my two young boys. We all agreed that The Comfy Cow rocks! We had the black raspberry chip and the cake batter and we tasted many others. The ice cream and toppings were delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and quaint. The servers were cheerful and enthusiastic. My new favorite ice cream spot!

What are the prices like? The cupcake thread got me thinking about specialty food prices. Kind of irksome when the website has everything (it's an effective website) but prices. Never have understood that approach. Am I not going to think about price when considering making a purchase or visiting a certain store? Is the price going to be kept secret until I make a purchase? Maybe even after I purchase? That would be interesting...

$3.13, including tax, for a small cup of ice cream, but it isn't all that small and it is quite delicious. Everything - ice cream, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, ice cream toppings - in the shop is homemade. Sam and I went there this evening and had the cookie dough (big thumbs up from Sam) and the salty caramel (big thumbs up from me). I didn't look at the prices for everything else, but one of the owners came out to talk to me and was about as gracious as anyone I've been around lately. Really made me feel like I was a guest in his home and was so grateful for the business. Take a moment to check it out ... it's good stuff.

Not to totally derail this thread, but that reminds me of a pet peeve of mine. I hate how the martini/cocktail list at restaurants often has no prices. I was at a nice restaurant last weekend, and they had prices on the wine list but none on the martini list. Why do they do that? I feel like a big goober asking how much a martini costs, but if I don't ask, I might have a heart attack when the check comes out. :(
