Have not been there yet. But the owner or manager is a regular at Meridian!
Nice guy with obvious good taste  so I would guess it would be good.

Owner Roy Meyer is a former Lexington restaurateur so he knows the business. It's a cool place, not huge menu. I tried it last week with my sister, had a spinach & salmon salad that was fresh and very good. A bit pricey for my Mom-lunch budget at $12ish with a drink and tip.

Well, I ended up going there tonight. I went with a crepe... chicken and brie to be exact. It was good but hard to eat. It was served in a cone sort of thing and then there was a paper around the crepe but it ended up sticking to the crepe so I had to dump it on the plate and eat it with a fork. Oh well. It had a good flavor besides all that. All the crepes are $6.99 and come with either a side salad, potato salad or Sun chips.

Next time I will try a salad. They range in price from $7.99 to $8.99. These are called their signature salads and are served with bread. Such offerings are Chicken Caesar, Nicoise, Cobb, Greek, Cowboy, Asian Shrimp, Spinach Diva and Chef. There is also a build-your-own salad which starts at $4.99 with 4 mix-ins. it goes up from there if you want meat, nuts, cheese, etc. I could see that getting pretty expensive if you didn't watch it. The salads are 48 oz and are a pretty good size.

They serve a couple different soups and they cost $3.99. Next time I will also want to try a dessert crepe. They are $3.29 and sound yummy.

They closed at 7pm. The owner was there tonight. They used to live in Lexington, he moved to Miami and now they are back here in KY.

Is this Roy of Roy and Nadine's, A la Lucie, etc.?

There used to be a place called Roy's on East High as well, which was very good! They had a really good maple shrimp and grits dish. It closed sometime in 2003.

Well, I do love crepes, but that presentation certainly turns me off. Thank you Jenny. Now I won't waste my time going there.

I did get my crepe to go since it was almost closing time so it may be different in the store. Also, I sure you could ask them to do it a different way. I wouldn't let that dissuade you.

Interesting. His other joints were on the decidely upscale end, but perhaps that was because of Nadine's influence (I understand there was a very messy divorce 6 or 7 years ago).

Roy and Nadine's was always one of my favorite places in Lexington. I didn't make it to Roy's Diner, which I believe is what Marie is referring to that was on High Street (maybe it was just "Roy's," though I always heard "Roy's Diner").

Either way, the Roy being a part of it is enough to get me to try the place.

Yes, Roy and Lucie divorced. I believe it was Roy's East High Diner.

What, just by one person's opinion??? She said the crepes were good. No wonder restaurants are struggling if people make up their mind that quickly whether to patronise a place or not.

I am thinking about trying them out tonight!
