That's the menu from the truck. Do you think the restaurant's menu will be more extensive?

I can't wait....The location has been a Mexican bakery for some time now. Some of Juan's savory treats will be a more than welcome addition. I live nearby and will probably eat there twice a week!

Dan have you ever tried the anything from the bakery? I am in Jeffersonville and personally don't like the Mexican bakeries here. They just don't taste like "home".

I wonder if they will keep the same hours or if they will open earlier since they have a hard location.

They'll be open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 9 a.m.-9 p.m., I believe.

I never made it to Juan's. How does the food compare to the trailer in the Eastland shopping center?

They're both very good, but Juan specializes in tacos while Las Gorditas specializes in gorditas. I think they're both excellent.

While I did enjoy Juans stuff every time I went, I found the food at the Gordita Trailer to be a cut above. I base this on on my perception that the flavor/spices of the different meats at Juans seemed to run together a bit, while the meats at the Gordita trailer had more distinction between them.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

In celebration of my birthday this week, my mom and I went to Juan's Taco Toreados grand opening. Be forewarned, his sign isn't up yet, but the bakery sign still is, Google map it to the address: 9109 Galene Dr, it's in the strip mall on the left just after Six Mile turns into Galene if you go straight through the traffic light. There is a Mexican grocery next to it. We got out and who should pull up but Mary and Robin! We had a nice lunch, the tacos were excellent, they have pastor now, as well as a seasoned barbacoa whose spanish name escapes me that was excellent. No take out menus yet and I should have taken notes. The quesadillas were great, and the elotes...well, how can corn in a cup with butter, crema and cheese not rock? We got a suprise tasting of the cowboy beans, Frijoles Gaucho, which were incredibly tasty too...not something I would have ordered but I something I'd like to eat again. They have Jarritos, and when we went up to pay noticed they also have Horchata. Juan graciously treated me to a take home piece of cake as we left for my birthday! :D Good thing, because I couldn't have eaten more. $18 plus tip for a ton of food for two people. They also serve breakfast, and on weekends has special dishes like Menudo and goat barbacoa. I think Juan has a winner here, and once the foodies discover him he is going to need more seating. Thanks Juan!
