Moving on....

by Dan Thomas » Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:55 pm

I just wanted to announce that as of Sunday I will no longer be the Executive Chef at Big Spring Country Club. I have accepted a position as the Catering Supervisor for JCPS.

I have enjoyed my time at the club and think that I have made a real difference in the food that is served there. I also leave knowing that I was responsible for procuring and designing a brand new hot line and pantry after several years using of woefully inadequate equipment.

As most of you know, those of us in the Bizz sacrifice much in our personal lives when we enter our chosen profession. An opportunity arose that will allow me a lot more personal time, which at this point in my life and career I will be very fortunate to have when I start my new position.

It has been a challenging ride for the past 2 and half years, and I wish my soon to be named predeccesor the best of luck and hopefully they will continue to improve on the standard that I have set.

I made a similar move a couple of years ago. Welcome to the dark side. My first Derby and New Year's off felt strange, but you get used to it :)

Awesome news Dan. You're going to love working for the guv'ment...You work, you go home, you forget about it. Then every two weeks, just like clockwork the Eagle lands in your bank account. No if's ands or buts...It's a lovely thing.

So BTW, do we start calling you "Lunch Man Dan" (from Lunch Man Land) now ??? :P

Congratulations Dan!

I'm not sure what your new position involves, but we could sure use some more healthy choices in the elementary schools.
