I was unable to write in what other option I preferred.

I say each place gets one pie to enter. Toppings to be decided by the entrants, whatever they think is their best.

Let each entrant bring their best! If a second category as desired make it cheese since these contain only the basics of a pizza, crust, sauce and cheese. Other toppings are more of an individual's choice and obviously different shops cater to different different groups.

As a side note, what with all this discussion about vegetarian pizzas? Everyone knows a real pizza has meat!

I agree with the rest ... let each contestant bring their best to the table.

Toppings
Taste

I won't have room to try any dessert pizza after sampling the various pizzas. Heavens knows the amount of pizza I'll be consuming this day.

What about one meat, one cheese, one veggie and the "other" category. Bring your best pie!
Leah for you that could mean a dessert pizza. Tony Boombozz has a chicken fajita pizza that doesn't really fit in the other categories.
Some may want to change up the sauce, the toppings, whatever. One of my specialty pizzas from my past was smoked chicken that had three types of cheese, smoked chicken and no sauce at all.
