The Great Led Zeppelin Wine Pairing

by Phil Gissen » Sat Apr 18, 2009 9:02 am

Does this sound cool or what!
------------------------------------------
New York Vintners wants to make sure you do not miss the opportunity to join our friends Joe Bastianich and David Lynch for the Led Zeppelin Wine Pairing.

When: May 2, 2009
Where: City Winery, 155 Varick St., NYC
When: 8pm
Cost: $55-75

Bastianich has paired Zeppelin's raw, nuanced, complex and high-energy music with fine wine and Italian food. Ticket includes entrance, six different wine pours and paired light fare. Tasting will last 90 minutes and dinner and bottle service will be available immediately following the tasting.

I'd think better of an extreme beer tasting with Led Zeppelin, or better yet, with Rage Against the Machine.

I really don't understand this one. I love Zeppelin. I love Wine. I've even drank wine and listened to Zeppelin. They must know something I don't know. Apparently Black Dog and a Pinot Noir go great together, and I just never knew it!

The Rain Song would go great with all kinds of things. Some of them not wine.

I must have suffered some kind of Communication Breakdown as this thread has left me Dazed and Confused.

My confusion aside it is certainly a Celebration Day when someone pairs wine and Zeppelin. How Many More Times will someone come up with such an awesome idea. I'll give No Quarter but I am curious to know if the wine selections were Trampled Under Foot Down By the Seaside or if Ten Years Gone By some Fool in the Rain simply took off their shoes and did the Misty Mountain Hop or the Bon-Y-Ur-Stomp.

Thank You

Steve,

I know you come from the land of the ice and snow, an immigrant song in your heart. That last post was brilliant. Smooth as kashmir. I bow to the master as it's nobodys fault but mine that we have gone heartbreaker. Celebration day, I'm gonna crawl away.

Congrats to Todd for mentioning "Black Dog" in a food forum. Barbecued or jerky?

As soon as I read Will's post I just KNEW someone was going to go here. I'm surprised I had the restraint. :P
