So what did everyone eat for St. Pat's today?!

Unfortunately I had a boring dinner of spinach and lentils because I was hungry and working too hard to adjust. But I've had my share of traditional Irish dishes in the past years and I'm yearning enough for it this year to need to know what everybody else ate!

It's my husband's B-Day, so we had a home -cooked , non-traditional meal as follows ( he got sick of corned beef years ago) :

Arugula salad with Dates, Shallots and Balsamic
Vanilla Cheesecake with Vodka-Vanilla Mixed Berries

We had home done Reubens. That is our traditional St. Patrick's day dinner.

But now I realize that if you manually type a colon, hyphen, and outer parenthesis bracket, the smiley face appears anyway!

Those berries were surprisingly good, and super easy: 3 cups mixed berries, 4 tsp good vodka, 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/4 cup sugar. Mascerate for 15 minutes and then top your choice of dessert.

Well Saint Patrick's day is my wife's birthday and this year was a big one (don't have which one) so we had a very varied that day. We had lunch of fish and chips at Brennan's while listening to the Irish music and drinking green beer. For dinner we went to Equus and tried their new menu, it's marvelous! We had a hard time deciding what appetizers to have, today's soup of shrimp bisque didn't help any. My wife ended up with the crab cakes and I finally decided on the Mac & Cheese, they're both wonderful. Entree choices weren't any easier but she finally decided on the parmesan crusted Sea Bass and I have the 20 Hour Brisket, again neither of us was disappointed! I had a special cake brought in for her birthday so we didn't get a chance to sample their dessert menu.

Needless to say we both will sleep well tonight was full and happy stomachs.

I normally cook corned beef on St. Paddy's Day, but I had a refrigerator full of goodies left by my wonderful co-posters who came to Sunday's gathering so no corned beef. However, I'm not sad in the least. And then on top of it all I had supper at Z's Fussion before going to Actors.

Vietnam Kitchen K-8 and Hot and Sour soup, it had some green stuff in it, I think it was Broccoli

Irish stew of my own concoction featuring KY bison stewed in Guinness

Sweet potato fries with curried sour cream

Irish cheddar with crackers
