It's the one on lower Brownboro Rd. @ Clifton. It has a bad rap, but other than being small, dark & having a limited inventory, it does in a pinch.
When in doubt, add more wine.

Many of our Krogers have "neighborhood" names. Besides the Dirty Kroger, there's the KroGucci, and KroCards and then of course the one nearest me, the infamous KroGhetto.

Don't forget the one that started it all, Kro-zhay! (Holiday Manor)

Someone in the old forum reported that he used to call the Kroger on New Cut "Roger". Apparently, the neon "K" was out for about a year. When they finally repaired the sign, they started calling the store "K Roger".

That cracked me up.

My buddy lives right behind the CVS(?) which is in the same parking lot as the Douglas Loop/Taylorsville Kroger. First time I went to his house, he told me to look for the Roger sign, as the K in "Kroger" was burnt out. As he is named Roger, he got a big kick out of the fact that a big corporation would help guide people to his house. We still call it K-Roger's to this day.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Oh sorry- that was from my post. It was apparently closed this morning because of "severe water damage." I actually enjoy dirty kroger every now and then. They always have Kashi and Clif Bar products on sale.

Might be an alternate name, but when Mary and I lived out near there (yes, the suburbs) in the '80s, the idea of naming Kroger's was new, and it was definitely Kro-zhay then. In our circle, at least ...

That's "my" Kroger and I was wondering if it has been nicknamed :?: . With the support he garnered in my neck of the woods, maybe we should called it KrObama.

Wow, I thought that my friend and I were the only ones that called the downtown Kroger "KroGhetto" lol. I get the creeps just walking into that place, from Old Louisville I go to the one on Goss or Poplar level instead if I have to.

We've named "our" Kroger (at Goss and Eastern) "Kraut-ger" in keeping with it's Germantown locale. I always thought the Bardstown/Taylorsville Kroger was known as Single's Kroger due to it's young single clientele. However, my husband refers to that one as KroGantor. Apparently it started as a small store and they pretty much built a larger store around it, then toted the inner smaller store back out. He says the KroGantor ate the baby Kroger.

I call the Kroger at McMahon Plaza on Breckenridge Lane "KrOLDger" because of the retirement condos across the street.

No, it hasn't caught on.

Lordy..it's a mess in there on the first Wednesday of the month! A suspicious lack of shellfish and pork products as well on a regular basis.

Favorite Krogers on my list...the Highlands and the one in Middletown.
