Someone in the old forum reported that he used to call the Kroger on New Cut "Roger". Apparently, the neon "K" was out for about a year. When they finally repaired the sign, they started calling the store "K Roger".
That cracked me up.

First time I went to his house, he told me to look for the Roger sign, as the K in "Kroger" was burnt out. As he is named Roger, he got a big kick out of the fact that a big corporation would help guide people to his house. We still call it K-Roger's to this day.

I call the Kroger at McMahon Plaza on Breckenridge Lane "KrOLDger" because of the retirement condos across the street.
No, it hasn't caught on.
