Nords Bakery has a caramel iced doughnut topped with bacon. I had to try it. It was silly good.

Man, I've been in there several times and never seen this. Is it new?

Also for bacon fans (even vegetarian ones who miss it), in case you haven't heard by now:

As far as the bacon salt... what a great idea! But the baconaise clogs my arteries just thinking about it.

That stuff is certainly addicting. By the way in case you haven't heard it's available in Kroger now so we don't have to order it!

We recently devoured "Ricotta Beignets with Black Pepper Cream, Candied Bacon Bits, and Pineapple Relish" for dessert. The creamy/salty/acidic combo was heavenly.

We had them at Willi's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa, CA. I've been trying to work bacon into my dessert recipes ever since. . .

Next up: Alton Brown's "White Trash" (which I call Chex Crack Mix). I have to wait until there's a crowd assembled, otherwise the recipe will make one VERY LARGE serving : ).

I've been hearing about this stuff for sometime now(the bacon salt that is) and have to try it. I just went to place an order and they're sending "free samples" can't beat that.

I was afraid they weren't going to be from someplace local or even within driving distance! The sounded so good I was ready to have some for breakfast tomorrow.

Oh god. . .I hadn't even noticed the Baconnaise before. I guess that's an okay idea in theory but, yeah, I don't feel so good all of a sudden. . .

Got the bacon salt from Krogers, around $4.75 for a smallish two ounce jar. Even though the first ingredient listed is sea salt, it has about one third of the sodium of seasoned salt. It is more powder than crystalline, and the holes in shaker top are ridiculously large. It does make everything it touches taste like bacon, including your fingers. Probably needs a warning label for this.
