IHOP in Louisville?

I recently heard that a new IHOP restaurant was going to go in where the Ruby Tuesdays was across from Mall Saint Matthews. Has anyone else heard this? We love IHOP for breakfast or a late evening snack and have missed having one since moving to Louisville.

I don't have info on a Louisville outlet, but you may know that IHOP recently opened over on the Lewis & Clark strip in Clarksville, and has received rather poor reviews ...

IHOP as a whole is rather lackluster these days, a far cry from the pancake paradise of my youth. The one in Cincinnati is just terrible. Don't anyone get your hopes up for anything special; I'd say you'd probably be better off going to Bob Evans, and I don't even like that place.

When I last went to an IHOP in Nashville, it was rather lackluster.......

I would hope it has improved......do miss the high pitched roof of day's gone by.

Went there once for lunch about a month ago, will never return.

Food is just too bland, kinda like a school serving line I remember. Service was OK, just no interest in going back. Bob Evans is much better, IMO.

I'm sorry to hear that your experiences around here with IHOP has not been good. We've been to a new one in Greenville South Carolina while visiting friends it was very good. The new style is much brighter and cleaner than their old restaurants. Hopefully if we get one in Louisville it will be on the good side too.

We do like Bob Evans, Mimi's and Lynn's but IHOP would certainly be an upgrade from Waffle House.

We have been there twice. The first shortly after they opened was OK, but a lot of our long ago favorites are long gone. The second was horrid, slow, inattentive service, lukewarm food. Hubby had a chat with the on-duty manager, who was maybe 19 years old, and she did not have a clue. Nothing special to bring us there again.

I used to like IHOP, but my last few visits have made me rethink this. They have this no substitution rule, so if I order something that comes with bacon on the side (I'm a vegetarian) I apparently can't replace that with a piece of toast. I think that is a little ridiculous personally.
I have found better breakfast foods elsewhere and at waffle house I can substitute.

I have been to the one in Lexington and the service was good as was the food...Breakfast...

Well, that would mean IHOP has come almost full circle in the Ville. They started out at the intersection of LaGrange Rd. and Shelbyville Rd. They were also my first public job back in 1974. I started as a busser and dishwasher and worked my way up to chef. It may be hard to believe, but almost everything we made was from scratch. I really learned to prep and cook in that place. The coolest thing was the first time I successfully flipped eggs out of the pan and had them land back correctly. No mess to clean up that time.

The place was always mobbed and I reckon the reason it went out of business was poor management. It didn't matter what time of day or night it was, we always had a crowd in there. My time working there was well spent as I learned to work with other people, deal with the public and also be held accountable for my actions in the workplace. To this day, I still have fond memories of my experiences there.

Aahh... the Pancake House! That brings back memories. I used to work the graveyard shift (11 to 7) back in 1972 to 1974. On Friday and Saturday nights around 2 to 5 in the morning that place was rockin'. It was a real education for a 17 year old. I saw things... oh boy, oh boy! The owner's girlfriend used to stumble into the side kitchen door half drunk from Flaherty's III and hang all over me while I was washing dishes or prepping food. Man, were those some wild times.

There are obvious missing spots on the menu(BIG BLANK SPOTS) You should avoid this place like the plague. Any fond memory you used to have about IHOP doesn't exist anymore! If they can't get it right in Clarksville, then I don't have much hope for them anywhere in the Louisville Metero area
