Let’s call it the tax rebate effect…

Let’s call it the tax rebate effect…

I’m at Pestos talking with Esse around 11:35am. I state “I bet it will be a slow day due to wind, heat and humidity/rain.”. I was wrong. Usually his rush shows about 11:55am. At 11:50, no tables left. 11:55 crowd was in a long line! When I left at 12:30, still a 10-15 person wait. I thought this was a bit odd till coworkers said the same about places they went. I was talking with a friend later and he was scheduled to get his tax rebate yesterday. He thinks, as do I now, it was the stimulus package check and people are eating out more with the added cash in their pockets.

Anyone seen this recently?

I dont know if it is the tax rebate but on Westport Road...places like Chedders...O Charlys...On the Border and even Bob Evans seem to have full lots every evening and at some places you will have to wait to be seated....

We actually had to wait in a short line for a table at Pesto's last Friday. I was at Jack's Lounge last night ($5 burger night) and they were busy but not swamped like a Friday or Saturday.

Funny, Mary and I strolled past Pesto's a little past noon and were amazed by the crowd - looked like there was even a line. We went next door to check out Blue Nile and found it fairly crowded, with maybe a few tables open. (And, for what it's worth, the new Queen of Sheba was slammed on a week night last week, every table full.)

We ate at Bourbon Bistro tonite (half price wine night), and there wasn't an empty table! Don't know how many turns they had, but sure crowded . . . and took some time to find a parking space in the area.

Havana Rumba was packed when i was there Monday.

It was nice to see a restaurant almost at capacity on a Monday night.

Oh! The food was amazing as always.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.
