Hey Doogie,
What gives is that the website was run by Rick Bowman the former chef there and since he left he kept the url and Norma and John are not into building webpages so it is a dead link. Robin can you delete the Hotlink as it is dead. As far as Sunday they have a pretty decent buffet that consists of both lunch and breakfast items as well as an omelet station and waffle station. I Love there omelets and waffles. You can also order some omelets off the menu with interesting and good combinations as well as all the other breakfast foods you may want. They also serve lunch on Sunday with several sandwich choices and hand cut fries. My wife swears by their new hand cut and breaded cod sandwich. She has gotten it the last 5 times we have been. I am not a big seafood fan so I tend to be more mundane and order an omelet or one of their sandwiches. There are still some cuban influence sandwiches such as the pedros which is ham chorizo onion and other things to which I cannot remember at this point on a cuban pressed loaf. Also a cuban club with chicken ham and bacon on pressed bread. They have more down home offerins such as hamburger, reubens, portabello sandwich. You can also get sweet potato fries if you want but I like the home cut ones. There are many more options at night as well. They have a pretty decent choice for La Grange. Hope this helps and try a piece of my cheesecake if you like and let me know. They will also be featuring petit fours? from Andrea.

Ned, thanks for the input. Now I am even more eager to get up to Norma Jean's. I told my mom she was going to love the place. By the way, I am sure the owners could get some local outfit to set up a website for them at a minimal cost. Maybe they should contact Louisville Originals.

Yeah maybe I need to try my hand at building websites :D well my wife and I enjoy it up there as it is fairly good food and close. I think they would do better if they had more of a base but most people out this way just want cracker barrel it seems. Norma and John are good people and are trying to bring a little more than the typical menu items out this way. Plus they give locals like us a place to display our wares. The walls have local art by local people and they also allow me and Andrea to cook a few of their desserts. Plus they also use to do a night a month of local would-be chefs such as I to cook a menu and offer it to a large group of people. This has since been discontinued due to dwindling attendance but it was a great experience

I highly recommend web.com. You can build a website using one of their gazillions of templates and be up and running in a day or two. It is quite simple. And their customer service is excellent. Plus you get thorough statistics. $12/month.

Ned,
The web URL is available and has been for at least 5 months. Our parting of ways, which I won't get into, left me unwilling to admin. the website, I will leave it at that, but to set the record straight, the url is and has been open for anyone willing to purchase the domain, I never had any ownership of the domain name, just the website contents. A new website is easy to make with the page building wizards out there.

Also, as to their brunch, if it resembles what it was when I was there, and I think it does from what I hear, it is a great deal. Lots of options. Try the waffle and omelet station. The waffle mix they use is what all the high end clubs and hotels use, it is fabulous!!! Also, John makes a mean omelet!!!

Rick, thanks for clearing that up. This is fully consistent with my knowledge of you as a gentleman and a person of honor.

No problem Robin, my experience there was helpful and good, I really do wish Norma and John the best of luck, they helped me get back home from Baltimore when I was desperate and for that I will always be greatful whether they know that or not. I like many other people here on the forum see the need to help the indie restaurants be sucessful, if for no other reason than to have dining options and variety. No matter what, John and Norma have worked their respective arses off to make that place viable. I have never in my 17+ years in restaurants seen anybody put so much of themselves into a restaurant like them.

I do want to inform everyone that tomorrow (Easter Sunday) we will be offering only the complete Suday brunch and not our regular menu. The regular price of $10.95 for adults and $7.95 for children 10 & under will prevail and there will be a host of additional goodies. Please call for reservations if you have not already done so 222-8044.

Thanks for the post, John, and a very happy and busy Easter to you and Norma Jean. I doubt we'll get out that way tomorrow, but we'll be out to see you some time soon.

We'll also be out with the kids at 10:30 for brunch tomorrow - thanks to Norma and John for being so supportive of local businesses like mine. Thanks to great people like them I have been able to grow my dessert business in Oldham County and I am so grateful! Norma hosted an Easter egg coloring party for kids at the restaurant today and we had a great time. They are fantastic people and it is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. I love La Grange, it is my home and my place of business and I urge everyone to come out and see the buzz we are building in historic downtown La Grange!

PS Ned, I have to agree with Sherri - the cod sandwich is ridiculously good. And I saw a picture of your daughter and she is precious. Congrats again!

Hey Rick, Hope all is well for you up in IN and never meant to insist you kept the domain as spite or anything just knew that there was no reason for you to continue upkeep as you no longer were there and the content was yours . I know Norma and John were very thankful for the wonderful recipes and the hard work you did for them. We are still sad you are no longer there but Chris is taking off and coming up with some very creative items as well. John and Norma we would be there however heading out of town tomorrow. Andrea Hope all is well and thank you for the comment on little Emma she is very beautiful to us and her pic is in the front window of NJ's. I also love La Grange as it has a real small town feeling and where else would a shop keeper or several for that fact want to display a picture of your child because you are a patron. I will hopefully post a pic sometime when I get on my other laptop.
