Baxter Station. We were regulars there. The bartenders often drew two glasses of our favorite beer (Rogue Dead Guy) when they saw us come in the door. We got to know a number of the folks who worked there on a personal level. Really miss them.

The loss of Palermo Viejo still makes me sad every time we pass by. Baxter Station too So many great memories at both places!

Lentini's immediately comes to mind, before it was purchased. I loved the atmosphere, their pasta dishes, and they had my favorite dessert, a 3 layer chocolate cake where 2 of the layers were white and chocolate mousse.

The Blind Pig loved just about anything I had there but my favorite was the Oyster fritter apps.

Dietrich’s.
The atmosphere. The walls that opened to Frankfort Ave. Staff members that were bright and funny. And a vodka cream sauce pasta with three different caviars. (Heavy sigh)

The early Pine Room with Bill, Kitty and, of course, Mabel in the late fifties. A little hard to get to; the Watterson was only finished to Bardstown Road.

I still desperately miss Red Pepper Chinese on Lower Brownsboro.

Everything I ate there was delicious, but I particularly miss the Garlic Tofu with Spinach.

Great stuff! We're getting quite a list here. Keep 'em coming, folks!

Oddly enough, the place that I miss at least once a month is Emperor of China. Their food was just WAY better than anything in town. Hot and sour soup, Szechuan shrimp, and mu shu anything with real pancakes (no tortillas). They also made a sizzling rice soup served table side that I miss dearly.

It’s still around but I miss it’s old iteration-Tumbleweed. I want 1995’s Tumbleweed back.

Not terribly long gone, but I miss Eiderdown. Great beer program, excellent German-American-Southern food. The beer cheese was always so, so good.
