Waffle House hash browns.

by Doogy R » Thu Jan 31, 2008 1:57 am

In the olden days of yore, of which this old man is part of, Waffle House only hashed their browns one way, in the ring. Nowadays you can get them "scattered" (spread out on the grill), "smothered" (with onions), "covered" (with cheese), "chunked" (with diced ham), "diced" (with diced tomatoes), "peppered" (with jalapeño peppers), "capped" (with mushrooms), "topped" (with chili) and "all the way" (with all available toppings). Or any variation thereof.

So, Louisvillians, how do you prefer your Waffle House hash browns? Being as I am old school, I like mine the old fashioned way, in the ring. Crunchy on the outside and mealy on the inside. Yummo.

Disclaimer. I like mine the way I do and if you don't, that's great. Let's agree to disagree. I want this to be FUN. I didn't set up this poll for an arguement, just for fun.

I tried to vote for this damned thing but can't figure how! Anyway, you left out the option for all ingredients sans chili...you can keep that sloppy, salty mess. Gimme veggies and and maybe a jar of of colemans english, although I'll have to smuggle in my own for sure.

I like them all the way, except without the peppers; not worth the additional price.

I often order a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it.

Scattered and smothered for me. Unfortunately, I could only vote for one option, so I chose the all-important onions!

Greyt topic.

That's my vote, too, Lois, but in-the-ring is mighty tempting, too!

Scattered and smothered for me, and occasionally covered, but only when I'm not getting the cheesy eggs.

Scattered and smothered for me too, and occasionally chunked, depending on what I'm having them with!

Amen, I hear what you're preaching. Of course, it's just our opinion, right?

They are. There are varying degrees of bombness. :D

And actually, NEC's hash browns are really home fries. So, it would be like comparing apples to oranges.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry I didn't include all the possible options. The way I have it figured, there are approximately 1,522,384 permutations based on the given options. That's why I added the "any variety of the ingredients" option.

I'm so glad to see people voting in this poll being as it's the first one I've done. Thanks for everyone's input.
