Really?? Their last Twitter post is from Friday night, and their website is still up & says nothing about this...I hope this isn't true! Does anyone else have more information?

A friend of mine is/was a cook there and he said he was informed that as of this AM (July 1), they are closed.

I've reached out to Steven Clements for information. I'll pass on whatever info I get.

Odd... seems like the patio always has a decent crowd when I walk by.

I saw that Levy Restaurants was at least temporarily taking over the catering for the Derby Museum (from Clements Catering.) Think it's in any way related?

I just got an email from them on Friday about their Sunday "Pork on the Patio" promotion.

So, if they're gone, it happened fast.

I just called. Their message said they are "suspending operations due to unforeseen circumstances".

Bummer.

Bummer indeed. I haven't heard back from Steven, but based on this follow-up, I'm changing Tod's subject line to express the bad news.

Sad news indeed. Their dish at the APRON fundraiser was amazing.

there was a piece about the closing on the 11:00pm news last night (Sunday, the 1st) on one of the local late-news broadcasts, but I've searched all 4 channels' websites and can't get any results. but it definitley said "closing"....

The sign on their door read, "...suspending operations...", which may not necessarily mean the same thing as terminating operations. Perhaps Avalon will return in another format (??)...

Damn- That's so sad. We were actually debating about going Saturday night due to how great Patrick's food was at the Speakeasy Event, but ended up going to Mayan Cafe. ( Yum)

One of you guys should hire Patrick fast- that's one seriously talented chef.
