The Fish Fry House

2280 Bardstown Rd
(502) 632-2583
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Wendy's and BK have decent fish sandwiches for families on a budget. Moby Dick is a step up but it's not cheap, six bucks or so for fish sandwich and fries.

The Fish Fry House mentioned above should be really good but they aren't cheap if the prices are similar to their restaurant on Outer Loop.

I hear it's actually a small markup past the Outer Loop prices. Not surprising, really.

I haven't eaten at the new place yet, but have been going to the Outer Loop locale for years.

There is a bar on Flintlock right off Dixie has great fish at a great price but I know if you have kids with you it wouldnt be where you would want to go....it would be a whole new world for them :D
Seriously also out in the Dixie area there is also Mike Linnings but not cheap by any means, but they may have a kids menu

Moby Dick has a fish box for 2 that has 4 large filets hush puppies and loads of fires for less than $15.00.. There only 2 Moby Dick's that are worth visiting and they are on 18th street in Shively and Dixie Hwy at Johnstown Rd.The MIddletown store is so dissapointing. My first choice would be Mike Linnig's.

There's also a Fishery in Middletown on Shelbyville road.

Hill Street Fish Fry 111 E. Hill Street
Seafood Connection 3941 Chenoweth Square
The Fishery 3624 Lexington Road

Moby Dick is good, but the prices have gone up quite a bit. Besides, you all have one across the river (at least you used to!)

Becky, that would probably be the Fish House (also Cafe Beignet) on the corner of Barrett and Oak - or maybe it's Barrett and Winter or maybe Barrett and Grinstead at that point - it changes fast, but right across from the Monkey Wrench and just around the corner from Lynn's, anyway. They do Green River Western Kentucky style fried fish, with lots of black pepper and cornmeal in the breading, which makes it crunchy and good. Definitely a top choice.

we do have a Moby Dick here.... and we have bought the fish box and other stuff a few times.... but were disappointed each time. my husband said they used to be better in years past and that it is not like it used to be.

The Fish House on Winter Ave near Barrett. Not a lot of atmosphere, but good fish at a good price. Try the jalapeno tartar sauce, it is addictive! They also have Beignets! :D
