Majid's Cocktail List

by Stephen D » Mon Jan 09, 2012 6:58 pm

Here she is!

I'm looking to release this menu sometime this week- I simply need to make sure we have back-ups of some of the product. Thursday, potentially Friday. We'll be making changes quite frequently, but I won't necessarilly be posting them here. Perhaps an update once the dessert drinks find thier way to the new dessert menu and three/four will be added. One or two offerings don't really warrant it, in my opinion. Just the seasonal shifts, so to speak...

All cocktails are $9 unless otherwise noted

Dandelion Champagne Cocktail
Dandelion and Burdock Bitters, Sugar Cube, Domaine St Michelle, Expressed Lemon

The Warmed Negroni
Heated Bombay Gin, Lillet Rouge, Campari, Jasmine-Scented Vessel

The Tobacco Manhattan
Maker's Mark, Black Cherry Tobacco Tincture, Carpano Antica Vermouth

Gorgonzola Bloody Mary
Pickled Watermelon Rind, Kim Chi Brussel Sprout, House-Cured Salmon Belly

Sweet Cedar
Avion Anejo Tequilla, Brown Sugar, Sandalwood Oil

House White Sangria $7
Daily Selection of Flavors and Techniques (current: Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Sauvignon Blanc in a sweet style)

Jasmine-Citrus Cordial
Scratch-Made Limoncello, Reconsidered

The Scotched Alexander
Famous Grouse, Aphrodite Coffee/Chocolate Bitters, Espresso-Walnut Gomme, Cardamom Dusting

The Aviation Flip
Aviation Gin, Creme de Violette, Luxardo Marascino Liqueur, Whole Egg

If anyone can make me a bloody mary fan, it would be Stephen D. It sounds obscenely delicious!

The Sweet Cedar is fantastic and very dangerous.

The Kim Chi sprouts need to be sold by the bucket.

The Bloody Mary does sound quite good. In fact, I think I have tried a version along the way to it's incarnation. But being from the upper midwest, I must say that a side car/pony of beer would make it perfection!

No, I didn't...

Did they refer to spirits as women? This was something I picked up from Richard Patterson, Master Blender from Whyte McKay. Spirits are to be enjoyed as one does women...

She's a beautifull one, the Shakleton's South Pole Whisky- long, luxurious and subtle. But be carefull! She can get you into trouble!

His metaphor seems to stick, for me...

Stephen, you must see the season premiere of Portlandia. Andy Samberg plays a mixologist.

Majid wants to put them on the menu. I've been the naysayer and maybe I need to rethink my position on this. A Korean variation on a Persian-American menu? Blah. Who Cares- it's all American, as long as it's tasty!

They are that tasty.

He's also got this dish that somehow got swept under the rug (and I caught him making it for his familly.) It's called 'koobideh' and oh-my-lord this is the absoluteness! I seriously won't forgive him if it doesn't show up on the next menu. It makes slyders look pedestrian!

I don't know how he makes them- don't care- they are that good.

I keep eyeballing deep-fried butter beans. Just imagine- like wasabi peas, but Persian-inspired, larger and meatier, with some Zaht'ar spice...
