Not LHB's Lois Mauk in critical condition...

by Jackie R. » Mon Oct 24, 2011 12:47 pm

I just saw a very upsetting news story about a trailer explosion in Washington County Indiana yesterday that reported Lois Mauk in critical condition. I assume this is LHB's Lois. Just thought everyone would want to send positive thoughts to her and the family that she was visiting at the time.

Oh, no! Hopes and prayers that she gets along okay. Does anyone live near her or know her socially outside the forum, perhaps through greyhound rescue? I'd love it if we could send her a card or somehow let her know that we're thinking about her.

I'm very happy to report I just saw Lois (or her ghost) eating lunch at Gavi's.

I expect she'll be popping in here soon.

Oh lord! I feel terrible for the other Lois Mauk in the hospital, but thi is great news. I wonder how many concerned calls she's received in the past 24 hrs. Guess I should change the title...

I wouldn't have thought that Lois Mauk is a very common name, so a natural mistake I would assume

I have a feeling this was Lois, maybe she wasn't hurt too bad, it said one person wasn't hurt as bad as the other two.

The report I read said that Lois Mauk was one of the ones in critical condition. It must be another Lois Mauk.

Stop the presses!!!

I'm here and I'm okay! I was NOT in the trailer explosion up in Pekin!

Yeah, you're right, it ain't a common name but this woman's surname is spelled with a "C". Further, I haven't been in Pekin since I was a youngster.

I really have to say how touched I am that so many of you were concerned about me. That's so sweet, though it is a little like attending your own funeral, listening to folks say such nice things about you.

I'm not going to speculate on the cause of this explosion but I hope all three of the people involved will survive.

The WLKY news story on the blast is at http://www.wlky.com/news/29565173/detail.html

Thank you for your concern and thank you, Steve, for tracking me down to verify the truth of the situation. I probably should have invited you to join me for some Italian Wedding Soup.

All the best,
Lois

:-) Wow. In defense, the story I read did have her name spelled with a k, but it also spelled Pekin "Perkin" in one sentence. Happy Halloween! Glad you're safe and sound!

Lois, it looks like on WHAS the spelling of your name is exactly like yours.

Neighbors say the victims were Benny Thomas, his son Ralph and a family friend - Lois Mauk.

I was thinking, how many Lois Mauk's live in IN?
