There was actually a segment on the 12:00 news today saying how the McRib is back for a limited time... Really, the local news is reporting that the McRib is back... WTH??

I tried one once, maybe 20 or 30 years ago. Tasted like SPAM with barbecue sauce smeared on it. Ick!

I've seen how they make their burgers. If I had to choose, I'll take the McRib.

I have been seeing ads lately for Schwan's products here on the Hotbytes forum. I am not sure if a McRib is any worse than most of that stuff. It all falls into the "fake" food category in my book.

Why pick on the McRib & then promote Schwan's products? Doesn't make sense to me.

I suspect these ads help keep the power on for this site. Maybe if more of the local "heroes" stepped to the plate and took out an advertisement, there would be less space available for the "villains"?

It's on the Washington Post, HuffPo, LA Times...apparently, the periodic return of the McRib is always big news!

Yep. They're also served by Google on the basis of assumed relevance to food-and-restaurant discussions.

I can go in and block any advertiser I consider inappropriate, and I have actually done this on occasion. I don't even know what Schwan's is, though ... enlighten me?

(And while we're at it, many thanks to Coal's Artisan Pizza, who did step up to the plate - you may notice their local ads popping up among the Google ads from time to time. Click 'em, or better yet, go to Coal's and tell them "Thanks!"

In fairness, though, upon closer inspection, it looks like Schwan's facilities were clean but the company was blindsided by a sleazy trucking contractor.

It's still not my style. I'd rather cook my own food or order pizza in.

Also, it is intriguing to note that the frequent mentions of Schwan's in this thread is catching Google's attention, and a Schwan's banner is coming up on almost every reload. Sometimes two.

Right now, though, I am looking at a local/HotBytes banner from Creation Gardens. Let's give them a little love, too!
