Leah, this is purely speculative, but a friend of mine in the real estate business mentioned this place. Location: on E Market / Clay...across the street from Red Tree. He believed they were going to be a pizza place. That's all i got. DD

We drive by there a couple of days a week and they have certainly been doing a lot of work on it! It looks like they have an awful lot more to do however before they open. I think July maybe a little optimistic.

The Garage used to be a bar in Downtown Jeffersonville in what looked like an old Quonset Hut. Long gone it's now where the Thorntons' on Court and I-65 sits. I've heard many tales of debauchery out of that old joint.

Excuse me, that was the Garage Club. Famous for four for one happy hours and hot legs contests. It was also a live music venue. Spent many nights there. It wasn't a Quonset hut but a big block building. Good times.

Yep all the rumors are true - but all that was before I was married.

A co-worker got to eat at the new Garage Bar on Saturday, and he was raving about how good the corn and bacon pizza was. He also said they had a wide selection of beers, many of which he'd never seen before.

I was lucky enough to spend a few delightful hours at The Garage Bar on Sun night. The food was delicious; the corn and bacon pizza, the prosciuto pizza, another pizza with a baby green salad on top, an amazing hominy stew made with a tomato jam I think (I didn't see a menu), and a meaty braised pork shoulder on top of a bean ragout. They do have a nice selection of beers and a wide variety of NA drinks as well.
The wood burning oven is a work of art (as is the crust it produces) and the meat slicer is genius.
The atmosphere is so much fun I can't wait to get back- it really looks like a (very clean) old garage with an antique battery charger along one wall and a rack of spare tires overhead.
It was very nice to see the employees enjoying the night almost as much as the non-paying guests, there was a lot of enthusiasm in the room.
I think they are aiming for a Tues opening, if I heard correctly.

I cannot wait to try it. That seems like a great concept, and I'm a sucker for anything wood fired. About how many people would you guess it seats? Outdoor patio?
