River Bend Winery Closed?

by Laura T » Wed Jun 01, 2011 10:09 am

I just saw this post on facebook from River Bend Winery, seemingly out of the blue as I thought they had been doing well (but what do I know?):

"It's true. Closed down. Any outstanding bills or comments, call 502-649-3952."

Both locations?

They haven't really answered any questions, including if it is both locations. They did say to call if you had gift certificates, Groupons, etc. or if you had a wedding planned. Doesn't sound good.

Someone posted on their facebook wall this morning, "Closed!!!! Both Locations!!! Closed!!!"

Right after that, they posted, "It's true. Closed down. Any outstanding bills or comments, call 502-649-3952."

So I'm thinking that yes, both locations have closed.

Now all of the "closing" posts have been deleted from both of their Facebook pages - what is going on?

Knowing someone who is a bit connected with this place peaked my interests so I called over there and they said that they are temporarily closing the downtown location for renovations, but will have a grand reopening in early august. He said all coupons will be honored when they open back up, and all weddings and private parties are on as scheduled.

That's all I know, but better than we thought!

That's better news! They now have this on their Facebook page:

A note to all Friends of River Bend Winery:
In an attempt to be able to better serve our customers and friends, we are temporarily closing our downtown restaurant and winery to perform some renovations to our space. During this time, all weddings, private parties, and events are still on as scheduled.

All Coupons, Groupons, and Gift Certificates will be honored upon our reopening. We appreciate all your business and look forward to the pleasure of hosting you at our Grand Reopening in August.
Any questions, please give us a call at 502.540.5650.

I don't want to be a cynic, but isn't that space only a few years old? :?

River Bend Winery will be up and running better than it has ever been in a few months. New management and new direction. It will be fantastic!

The Middletown location was dark and empty, according to some on Facebook. It seems that they're not giving their customers the real story of what is going on. I guess I'll be asking Groupon for my money back!

Yes that's true. We went by there this evening, the windows were covered with paper and no lights were on.

I've never been able to figure out if the Middletown location ever opened. It always looked closed to me!

They will not open the Middletown location back up. Everything will be dowtown, Will keep you informed on the date.
