Relocating reservations

by Alan H » Wed Apr 27, 2011 12:49 pm

Due to the continuos rising of the Ohio we are going to be closed for the next several weeks.

I am going to be calling all of our reservations that we already have on our books for Oaks, Derby, and of course Mother's Day tonight and would like to be able to offer them other options without them calling around.

Most of the Derby and Oaks reservations are 12 and less, Mother's Day we have several 20 to 26 tops and a lot in the range of 10 to 18 tops with of course smaller reservations of 4 or less.

If anyone has availibilty left on any of these days please let me know so I can direct the guests to you.

Thanks again to the forum for all your help and support !

That doesn't sound like fun, Alan. Hope you have a beer ready for when you finish that task.

I, for one (among many, I'm sure), am very sorry to hear how this recent weather has affected your business. I'm sure it's taking it's toll on a LOT of folks right now in a lot of different ways.
I think you taking an active approach in looking out for your guests' interests in your own time of turmoil says a lot about about your character. Well played, sir.
And I hope you guys bounce back like a Tigger!

Alan, best wishes. It's a darn shame that nature dealt you guys this rotten hand this year.

I've taken the liberty of "sticking" this post to the top of the forum for a few days in hope the other restaurateurs around town will see it and, one hopes, be able to help you out. What you're doing is very classy.

I can't really offer any assistance with Oaks/Derby, but we should have some openings left for our brunch buffet (10 am - 2:30 pm) and for dinner starting at 5:00 pm. Give us a shout if we can do anything to help. Good luck to you and the staff.

Alan, Hope you get all the reservations taken care of. This weather is killing me too. I closed on Sat at 3pm and didn't re-open until Monday. Didn't need to place produce orders or food orders, so this weather is affecting them as well. Funny thing is, just had a tow truck guy in, had to pull a car out of the water, so I guess some businesses are benefiting from the rain!!

I'm sorry as well. I'm no longer in the restaurant business, so no help to you, but will be sending good thoughts your way.
I will also make sure to make plans to visit once you're back up and running.

Hey Alan,
So sorry to hear of CQ's situation, couldn't have happened at a worse time of year. We have openings Thursday, nothing for Oaks, only 6 or 9:30 Derby, and plenty of room for Mother's Day.
We are doing brunch from 11:30-2:30 and reopening for dinner at 5:30. The details and menu are in "Mother's Day" listing here on the forum.

Good luck with the clean up!!!
Thanks,
Dawn Richardson

Alan,
What a nightmare! I dont envy your position. Best of luck getting everythiing back up and running and well wishes to your employees who are out of work as well.
I cant be of any help Oaks or Derby but we still have Mothers Day Brunch availability.

I also hear that Ellen Crouch of the English Grille had some space for Oaks/Derby open up at the last minute. You should give her a call- 736-2998.

Good luck,
Madi

Alan,

If you have more to talk to, Harvest may have good availability all days as they just opened last week. Word may not have gotten around yet so it's kind of off the radar screen.

I think it's been pretty darn busy, though. Ivor has a substantial network, and Harvest hasn't gone un-heralded on these pages. Still, good point. Worth a call!

Robin,

Yes, when I talked to him on Saturday at Market Ivor said they were very busy. My only point was that folks with advanced reservations might not have thought of it as it's so new, therefore they could still have availability. ( Unlike some places that have been booked for months)
