Man, both the places I was rooting for tied for third.

This was an awesome fun time. Lots of good samples, I don't think I want to see a bowl of chowder for at least a week. I was quickly outbid on the auction items, but that's ok.

And it was amusing how many people wandered up and said they recognized me from the forums due to my avatar(especially the hat)

Congratulations to everyone. It was a great evening and a big thanks once again to everyone who participated. This town is amazing...the call goes up and everyone answers...and, as my dear mother-in- law would say, "A good time was had by all".

Thank you all. :D

FIRST: everyone was a winner.

SECOND: the food was good

And THIRD: I had a good time!

Congrats, Chef Clancy for sweeping the race. And good to meet my former childhood neighbor, Finbar (not a lot of Finbars 'round here) - way to go on first place. And I got try Stephen's weido concoction that stood up to the judges scoring nicely. And I got to see Mikki! Woot! And meet Will. And see Chip again (thanks for watching my purse). Just the tip of the berg. Allll good. Thanks mostly to Dan, Deb, Steve, Alan, and Will. Pretty cool, guys and gal, pretttty cool.

My vote and my husband's vote were for both the 3rd place winners. I loved Juleps. It had a really good sweet corn chowdery flavor. I also liked Brownings a lot and loved the piece of fish served in it. Like the other poster, it will be awhile before I eat another serving of chowder. Great turn out!

We had a great time , and hope some money & awareness was made tonight. Another evening to be proud to be a Louisvillian! And my own thanks to Barbara A, who was stellar tonight helping w/ putting together our chowder for the crowd!

Kudos to Alan & crew-- to think you were under water less than a week ago, you do know how to clean up nicely. :D

What a stellar evening! I think that Barbara A (or was that Steve A?) who said
Congratulations to everyone. It was a great evening and a big thanks once again to everyone who participated. This town is amazing...the call goes up and everyone answers...and, as my dear mother-in- law would say, "A good time was had by all"

I totally agree with John A
I don't think I want to see a bowl of chowder for at least a week.

LHB is the greatest! I can't give enough praise/laud/thanks to Alan, Steve & Becky, Dan, Will and Deb for all the time and effort put into this great evening. And then, of course, all the thanks to the fifteen restaurants and chefs who gave up an evening for the cause.

Lousivlle rocks! But LHB rocks even more.

Chef Clancy, I will be in charge of finding you a kilt for the next throwdown, if I have to make it myself!

Another fantastic event! Always good to be with the LHB crowd. I also want to add I was really taken back by the diversity of the entrants, I never knew chowder could have so many lovely variations. I thought all the restaurants did Louisville proud. Special thanks to Captains Quarters for hosting. Your staff members were very attentive and gracious.

What a great time and a great turnout!! Any idea on what was raised for the charity at this time?
What will the next throw down be??? May be a little too similar (or not) but I LOVE CHILI!! I could eat it anytime of the year for any meal, that's my vote!!
Thanks to everyone who showed up, the judges and of course the participants... GREAT STUFF!!!

Now that it's time for the "Thank You's" to be handed out...The first ones go to Dan Thomas and Alan H. for a flawless job. This thing ran like a well oiled machine and the two of them, along with the AWESOME staff at the CQ are the folks responsible. Thanks also to Deb and Willie for all their hard work on the promotion end of things. We were a bit worried about ticket sales a time or two but in the end everything worked out just fine. Thank you to the restaurants (as well as Dumante) who generously donated gift cards, etc for the silent auction...Congratulations to the winning Chefs and a hale and hearty "Thank You" to all the Chef's and restaurants who participated. I hope the Chef's enjoyed the event as much as we enjoyed all that fine Chowder. Finally "Thank You" to EVERYONE who donated your hard earned dollars for such a wonderful cause...We don't have any final numbers to report (yet) but I am quite sure everyones generosity will make a big difference for the folks at the Hope Center for Growth.

Just to give folks an idea of how much effort the CQ put into this event...The carpet we were all walking on last night was replaced a mere 16 hours before the event.

So....an extra "tip of the hat" goes out to Alan and ALL the great folks at the CQ. I can't imagine a better crew anywhere.
