Any indication if it is the Louisville or Jeffersonville operation or both? Description would seem applicable to either, as would the term 'concept' .

I wouldn't consider hammerheads "little" competition.

Big sigh of relief that this was not the Jeffersonville location!

My favorite part of the listing is the "15 year exit plan" reason for sale.... yeah, me too. I loved that location and had many a filling and authentic meal there. Sorry they are selling, But if they get close to that price they asking for, they are looking good.

I assume that competition could be a factor in the Comeback Inn owners decision to put their restaurant up for sale. What I know for a fact is that we had a great dinner last night at Comeback Inn. We arrived around 7:00, yea, I know, typical. We got the last available table in the restaurant, a 2-top in the corner. From the time we arrived, until we left a little after 8:30, the placed was packed. As soon as a table emptied, they cleaned it, turned it around, and seated new customers. On a Saturday night, the Comeback Inn never had an empty table.

Hello All,
Hammerheads opened in Nov. or Dec. and Come Back Inn has been listed for sale since August so competition is definately not the reason for the sale. We want as many successful restaurants as possible in the neighborhood making it a destination like Bardstown Road or Frankfort Ave.

Since opening our doors in 1996 we have had an exit strategy of 15 years. My husband had wanted to own an Italian pub since he was young, so he opened CBI. We also knew that we wanted to do other things in life as well as being restarauteurs. I like to call it a planned mid-life crisis, others might call it a career change. :D

The restaurant is still very busy and profitable and is on the market as "turn-key".

Thanks everyone,
Gena Wagner

Gena,

Thanks for clearing that up. Last time I was in things were hopping- so much so, we ate at the bar. Best of luck and Happy Career Change! Deb

This is sad news. Comeback Inn was my favorite Italian restaurant in town. It seems like several of my favorites have closed in recent years... First Lentini's, then Ray Parella's, and now Comeback Inn. I will miss the cheese Won Tons, the Fettucini, the Pizzas. It's one of the few restaurants where every meal they serve is a winner.

Mike,

Why do you assume CBI is closing? We were there last Saturday night and the place was packed. Nothing in the for sale announcement indicated a closing. Businesses change ownership all the time. It does not mean they close.

There's still the one immediately across the river.
