Ordered a steak sandwich for dinner tonight at The Bristol-Prospect. The menu lists this item is served with bernaise sauce. What arrived on my plate with the sandwich is what is pictured. I asked the server if this was the bernaise sauce. He said yes.

This is NOT bernaise sauce. This is just sad.

whoa.... i have never had it, but have read up on it. shouldnt it be yellow and more liquidy? it is basically just butter, egg yolks and herbs.... again... i think.

did you let them know your dissatisfaction with it? thats pretty major.

Sad??? Heck no, that is down-right funny!!! LMAO :roll: I have made hollandaise in 5 gallon batches. No amount of tarragon will make it look like that. Server error? Still LMAO.

ive noticed that at several bristol locations. its some sort of taragon/vinegary/eggy/buttersolid mass in a ramakin. ive never understood why that was served as bearnaise SAUCE, much less served at all

I can't believe any self respecting restaurant chef would serve something that looked like that at all, disregarding the fact he called it Bernaise Sauce! It looks more like moldy cottage cheese than anything else and certainly something I wouldn't want to eat.

Really now, folks....Hasn't ANYBODY heard of multi-function products?

This amazing substance is specially formulated to be used as any of the above-mentioned items, as well as:
1. bleu cheese dressing
2. garlic-mashed-potato concentrate
3. guacamole blanco
4. autobody Bondo compound (dries clear; can be painted)
5. arthritis-relief cream
6. cream of mushroom soup base
7. no-melt ice cream
8. German chocolate frosting
9. dishwasher detergent (the amount pictured can clean and sanitize a full load of tableware, but may remove the color from some china)
